  • Publication number: 20250248682
Abstract: A wearable Doppler blood flowmeter can be used with an inflatable cuff to measure blood flow, such as for assessing peripheral artery disease (PAD). The present approach can include techniques such as providing or using a wearable acoustic Doppler blood flowmeter, without requiring the intricate manipulation of a handheld Doppler probe. The system can select a pair of acoustic transmitter and acoustic receiver from a set of more than two transducers, including one or more of different locations, orientations, or spacings, such as to vary a targeted region. The RF echo response signal can be translated to an audio response signal. An audio response signal injection circuit can adaptively inject a noise or other enhancement signal, such as to help improve perceptibility of an audible characteristic of pulsatile arterial blood flow. A trained machine learning model can be employed to select or adjust operating settings, to assess diagnostic information, or both.

  • Publication number: 20250248693
Abstract: An imaging system (IS), comprising an image acquisition unit (AQ) for acquisition of image data (I1) of an object (OB). The image acquisition is based on an imaging signal imitable by the unit (AQ) to interact with the object. The image acquisition unit (AQ) is adjustable to operate at different acquisition parameters that determine a property of the imaging signal. A predictor component (PC) predicts, based at least on the acquired image data (I1), one or more properties of the object. An acquisition parameter adjuster (PA) adjusts, based on the predicted object properties, the acquisition parameter at which the image acquisition unit (AQ) is to acquire follow-up image data (I2).

  • Publication number: 20250248569
Abstract: The present system provides a tamale press that is simple to operate and allows a person to make 75-100 tamales per hour. The device is designed to be used to make tamales and avoids the disadvantages of a tortilla press. The device comprises a base with a cavity for receiving a portion of masa to be pressed. A top portion is hingedly coupled to the base and includes a protruding section that approximately matches the dimensions of the cavity in the base. The top portion is closed and a pivoting handle is used to apply pressure to the device, causing the protruding section to press and spread the masa to the borders of the cavity in the base. When the handle and top are lifted, the formed tamale is removed and the next tamale can be produced.

  • Publication number: 20250249314
Abstract: Variable resistance devices and methods are disclosed. Resistance may be determined based on velocity of movement of a component in a variable resistance device. A variable resistance device may include a stator having a tapered internal bore and a plug disposed for longitudinal movement relative to the tapered internal bore to control resistance force. The tapered internal bore in the stator may be designed to yield a linear relationship between change in force and change in longitudinal movement of the plug relative to the tapered internal bore. The plug may be connected to a longitudinal rod movably disposed within a sleeve. The velocity at which the sleeve moves may be used to control movement of the plug relative to the tapered bore, and to thereby control resistance force. Variable resistance devices may be included as part of exercise equipment to control resistance force presented to a person using the equipment.
