  • Publication number: 20050190401
Abstract: A communication control method and apparatus quickly confirms the status of a communication port when connecting a peripheral device 2 and an information device 1 through a communication port of the information device 1. The communication control method has a first step in which the second module of the information device 1 creates an object and executes a process to connect the device 2 based on a device connection command from the first module, and then eliminates the object when the connection is no longer needed. A second step confirms if the object was already created when the first module instructs the second module to open a connection to the device 2. A third step determines that the port is closed and the device 2 is not connected if the object is not already created, and instructs the second module to open the port and connect the peripheral device.

  • Publication number: 20050100486
Abstract: This is directed to a processing method for carrying a cell structure (1) with a catalytic component. Information about a mass of the cell structure (1) is displayed on the surface thereof prior to the initiation of a carrying process, and in the carrying process, the information is read and the cell structure (1) is carried with an appropriate amount of the catalytic component on the basis of the information. When cell structures are processed for carrying thereon a catalytic component, each cell structure can carry an appropriate amount of the catalytic component in accordance with the mass of the cell structure, even if there is a variation in the masses of the cell structures.

  • Patent number: 6867552
Abstract: After a sustain discharge period, a voltage twice a sustain pulse is applied to one of sustain discharge electrodes to form, on an address electrode, wall charges capable of self-erase discharge between an address electrode and the sustain discharge electrode by an address pulse, and the address pulse is applied to the address electrode to perform self-erase discharge between the address electrode and the sustain discharge electrode, thereby removing the wall charges formed on the address electrode. With this arrangement, a cell to be turned on in accordance with display data can be accurately selected in an address period without forming any wall charges on the address electrode, and any degradation in drive margin or display quality of a plasma display device can be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6793751
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a laminated ceramic electronic component allows for production of highly reliable laminated ceramic electronic components even when the coating rate of a ceramic slurry on a surface of a carrier film is increased in order to reduce the thickness of the ceramic green sheet. A ceramic green sheet is formed by pulling out a carrier film from a carrier film roll, coating the film with a ceramic slurry using a coating apparatus, drying the film with a drying apparatus, and rolling up the film using a take-up apparatus. The carrier film is unrolled, an internal electrode pattern is printed thereon by a printing apparatus, the surface of the film is dried, and the film is rolled up by the take-up apparatus. The rolled carrier film is pulled out, the ceramic green sheet is peeled away, and a plurality of the ceramic green sheets are laminated. Following the cutting of the laminated body into individual elements, these elements are fired, and external electrodes are formed thereon.
