  • Publication number: 20190334309
Abstract: A method and apparatus for passively synchronising the repetition rate of two or more mode-locked lasers is described. The method and apparatus involve forming a first synchronising optical field (6) by separating a portion of an output field of a first mode-locked laser (2) and thereafter redirecting this synchronising optical field to form a driving signal for a second mode-locked laser (3). Employing these techniques results in systems with timing jitter of less than 1 fs. The method is independent of the wavelength and polarisation at which the mode-locked lasers operate and so is not limited to use with any particular type of mode-locked laser. Since the technique is passive it does not require the employment of electronics, variable time delay paths or additional non-linear optical crystals. Therefore, the method and apparatus are significantly less complex than those known in the art and are not power limited by additional non-linear optical processes.

  • Patent number: 10437938
Abstract: Disclosed is a parametric feature-based 3D CAD system that allows multiple users to simultaneously edit a parametric feature-based 3D CAD model consisting of 3D parts and assemblies of those parts (3D Model). Several CAD users, each using their own computer, phone, or tablet, can edit the same 3D Model at the same time. Editing may be separate and simultaneous—there is no need for users to worry about locking, checking out, or otherwise restricting each other's access to 3D Models. As a result, users see each other's changes occur in real-time, and may also identify what aspects other users are actively modifying through visible Collaboration Cues.

  • Patent number: 10416036
Abstract: An apparatus and a method monitor fluid loss from one or more casks during a maturation process. The apparatus comprises a multi-pass absorption cell arranged in fluid communication with one or more fluid conduits, a pump and a monitoring system. The pump and fluid conduits transport a fluid sample (e.g. vapor sample) from a perimeter of the one or more casks to the multi-pass absorption cell. The monitoring system detects and identifies fluid within the multi-pass absorption cell.

  • Publication number: 20190255278
Abstract: A humidification system can include a heater base, a humidification chamber, and a breathing circuit. A cartridge can be removably coupled to the heater base. The cartridge can include various sensors, probes, sensor wire connectors, heater wire connectors, and/or other features. The cartridge can include features configured to mate with corresponding features on the humidification chamber and the heater base. The cartridge includes a memory, such as an EEPROM, or other suitable storage device. When the cartridge is installed on the heater base, the memory is electrically connected to a processor and/or memory of the heater base. Various models of cartridges can be produced for use with different humidification chambers, breathing circuits, and/or therapies. A connector can be configured to couple an inspiratory conduit to an outlet port of the humidification chamber. The connector can provide a pneumatic connection to the outlet port and an electrical connection to the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 10275227
Abstract: A method may comprise determining, by executing a first model having first configuration parameters, a first result associated with the first model. The method may comprise determining, by executing a second model having second configuration parameters, a second result associated with the second model. The method may comprise determining, based on the first result, the second result, and equivalency criteria, that the second model is not functionally equivalent to the first model. The equivalency criteria may indicate that the second model is functionally equivalent to the first model when a difference between the second result and the first result satisfies a threshold. The method may comprise modifying a configuration parameter, of the second configuration parameters, to cause the second model to improve toward functional equivalence with the first model.
