Abstract: Four variable reactance means (10-13) are connected, respectively, to the four ports (1-4) of a quadrature hybrid circuit which is composed of four ring-linked two-port circuits (180-183) each composed of a transmission line or multiple lumped reactance elements, so that by changing the reactance values of the four variable reactance means (10-13), operating frequency of the quadrature hybrid circuit can be selectively changed.

Abstract: The present invention has for its object to provide a bias circuit capable of handling multiple frequency bands, which has a low number of parts and can be miniaturized. As a solving means therefor, the bias circuit of the present invention comprises: a first reactance means 2 and a second reactance means 5, one end each of which is connected to a bias point 210 to which an alternating current signal is supplied; a capacitive means 3 connecting the other end of first reactance means 2; and a direct-current circuit 4 supplying a direct-current bias signal to the connection point of first reactance means 2 and capacitive means 3. Then, the reactance values of first and second reactance means 2, 5 have been set so as to make the combined admittance, seen from the alternating current signal supply point toward the side of first reactance element 2 and second reactance element 5, zero.

Abstract: The invention describes a self-renewing, phenotypically homogeneous population of oligodendrocyte precursor cells having a synchronized developmental stage and methods of obtaining a self-renewing phenotypically homogeneous population of oligodendrocyte precursor cells. Other methods include methods of maintaining and storing a homogeneous population of oligodendrocyte precursor cells for a prolonged period of time without change in the characteristics of the cells and methods of dedifferentiating oligodendrocyte precursor cells. The self-renewing, phenotypically homogeneous population of oligodendrocyte precursor cells or homogeneous population of oligodendrocytes may be useful for treating a patient having a CNS disorder or condition.

Abstract: In a quadrature hybrid circuit which has first and second two-port circuits 11 and 12 inserted between I/O ports P1 and P2 and between I/O ports P4 and P3, respectively, and third and fourth two-port circuits inserted between I/O ports P1 and P4 and between I/O ports P2 and P3, respectively, and which is configured so that under the condition that the I/O ports P1 to P4 are matched, a high-frequency signal fed via the I/O port P1 is divided between the I/O ports P2 and P3 and the divided two signals are output 90° out of phase with each other but no signal is provided to the I/O ports P4, there are provided SPST switches 7 and 8 responsive to external control to control electromagnetic connections or coupling across a plane of symmetry 5 of the quadrature hybrid circuit passing through intermediate points of symmetry 23 and 24 of the third and fourth two-port circuits 21 and 22.

Abstract: A process for preparing a blocked derivatized poly(4-hydroxystryrene)-DPHS having a novolak type structure which comprises the steps of (i) supplying a solution of methanol containing 4-hydroxyphenylmethylcarbinol, (ii) subjecting said solution to an acid catalyzed displacement reaction for a sufficient period of time and under suitable conditions of temperature and pressure to convert substantially all of said carbinol to 4-hydroxyphenylmethylcarbinol methyl ether in solution, (iii) polymerizing said ether containing solution in the presence of a suitable acid catalyst for a sufficient period of time and under suitable conditions of temperature and pressure to form a novolak type polymer; and (iv) reacting said polymer with a vinyl ether, a dialkyl dicarbonate, or a mixture of vinyl ether and a dialkyl dicarbonate to form the blocked DPHS.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a resonator capable of constituting a variable filter which has a small size, high mass productivity, low loss and high reproducibility of frequency. According to the present invention, a resonator having a line structure formed on a dielectric substrate 2, is reduced in size by providing a counter electrode 6 in the direction perpendicular to a surface of a resonant line 4 for forming a capacitive reactance which is added to the resonance circuit. The resonator can be further reduced in size by providing widened parts 7a, 7b on the resonant line with the use of the skin effect of an electric signal propagating in the resonant line, so as to enable a large capacitive reactance to be obtained, and by providing the widened parts and the counter electrodes for a part on the resonant line where a magnitude of voltage standing wave is high.

As the cap 40 is pressed from front or from above, the tiltable member 20 is pressed by the cap 40 to tilt, whereby the switch body 30 conducts the switching action.

Abstract: A box nailing machine includes: a box nailing machine body having a nail driving port from which nails are driven; a handle portion having a handle arm; and a magazine for accommodating nails in it, the forward end portion of which is attached to the nail driving port, the portion of the magazine except for the forward end portion being attached to the handle portion via the handle arm. The magazine has a handle arm attaching portion for attaching the magazine to the handle arm. The magazine is made of metal and formed substantially U-shape by press forming. A washer is integrally formed in the handle arm attaching portion so that the washer is disposed between a head portion of a fixing bolt and the magazine.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) which displays a map image showing the location of a camera whose sensed image is distributed via a network, and further displays a camera icon indicative of the position and states of the camera on the map image. When a user designates an area desired to be sensed on the GUI after the user obtains authorization to control the camera, control values for controlling facing direction and the angle of view of the camera are calculated. The calculated control values are transmitted to a camera server via the network, and the camera server controls the camera on the basis of the control values.
