  • Patent number: 7126831
Abstract: First and second semiconductor switches which are activated alternately are provided between ends of a primary winding and a common potential point, wherein a DC power supply voltage is supplied to a center tap. An electric current flowing into a load is fed back to thereby subject the semiconductor switches to PWM control. Series circuits consisting of capacitors and semiconductor switches are connected between the center tap of the primary winding and the ends of the same. The semiconductor switches are activated in synchronism with the first and second semiconductor switches, thereby preventing occurrence of an anomalous high voltage, which would otherwise be caused at the time of switching operation.

  • Publication number: 20050219863
Abstract: An inverter has a semiconductor switch circuit in the primary winding of a transformer such that each of the switches of the switch circuit is controlled by pulse-width modulation (PWM) to supply a constant ac current and a constant ac voltage to a load, such as a cold cathode fluorescent light, connected to a secondary winding of the transformer. A common slow-start control circuit is provided in the inverter circuit to enable a common slow startup of the PWM control of the output voltage and output current. This arrangement suppresses an excessive voltage and an inrushing current during a startup.

  • Patent number: 6941002
Abstract: A fingerprint reading system is provided, which is capable of enhancing versatility when actually used, increasing productivity and reducing costs. An illumination device emits the light from a rear surface side of an active matrix liquid crystal cell. A light guiding plate provided on a surface side of the active matrix liquid crystal cell, transmits the light coming from the rear surface side and deflects the light coming from the surface side toward one side end surface. A light receiving device provided on the side of one side surface of the light guiding plate receives the light exiting from this one side surface. A drive circuit makes the active matrix liquid crystal cell pinpoint-irradiate a fingerprint in contact with the light guiding plate by pinpointing with the light emitted from the illumination device and makes the light receiving device pinpoint-receive the light reflected by the fingerpoint, thereby obtaining an image of the fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 6940067
Abstract: A hazardous material detection system that can suppress occurrence of contamination due to ionization. When a sensor detects that a test sample has entered an inspection region of an X-ray inspection device as a belt conveyor moves, a corona discharge power supply in a hazardous material detection device is turned on for a constant time, to introduce a qaseous sample containing a substance stuck to the test sample into the hazardous material detection device via a sucking section and gaseous sample introduction piping, in order to ionize the gaseous sample and analyze it at an analyzer, based on a result of which analysis, a data processor decides whether the gaseous sample contains a hazardous material, to display a decision result on a screen. When the test sample is detected by an exit side sensor, the corona discharge power supply is turned off.

  • Patent number: 6925862
Abstract: An engine oxygen concentration sensor mounting structure in which an oxygen concentration sensor is mounted in a collector exhaust pipe connected to an outlet of an exhaust manifold having a plurality of exhaust single pipes. When a straight line is drawn from a detection part of the oxygen concentration sensor positioned within the collector exhaust pipe so as to be parallel to a section of a centerline of the exhaust pipe closest to the detection part, the straight line passes outside the outlet of the exhaust manifold. This allows the exhaust gases discharged from the exhaust manifold to be sufficiently mixed within the curved exhaust pipe and differences in length of the plurality of the exhaust single pipes to be compensated for. Thus, accurate detection by the oxygen concentration sensor can be secured, even if the lengths of a plurality of exhaust single pipes of the exhaust manifold are nonuniform.

  • Patent number: 6876624
Abstract: A multiplex conversion unit is configured with those functions required for a specific network to which it is more economically applicable. Each OC-12IF circuit pack includes a switch for performing time slot assignment (TSA) between a plurality of high-speed transmission lines and at least a low-speed transmission line. An ADM circuit pack includes a switch for performing time slot interchange (TSI) between the high-speed transmission lines and the low-speed transmission line. In an application to a network requiring the TSI function, the switch of the OC-12IF circuit pack performs only the add/drop multiplex (ADM) operation between the signals input/output by the high-speed transmission lines and the ADM circuit pack, and the switch on the ADM circuit pack performs the TSI operation. In an application not requiring the TSI, the TSA operation is performed using a THRU circuit pack.
