  • Patent number: 9877630
Abstract: An example robot includes a body that is movable relative to a surface, a bumper mounted on the body to enable movement of the bumper relative to the body, a sensor to produce a signal in response to the movement of the bumper relative to the body caused by contact between the bumper and the surface, and a controller to control movement of the body to cause the body to track the surface based on a value. The bumper is movable between an uncompressed position relative to the body and a compressed position relative to the body. The signal varies linearly with the movement of the bumper relative to the body. The value is based on the signal and indicates that the bumper in a partially compressed position has a compression range between the uncompressed position and the compressed position.

  • Patent number: 9868211
Abstract: A robot includes a body that is movable relative to a surface one or more measurement devices within the body to output information based on an orientation of the body at an initial location on the surface, and a controller within the body to determine an orientation of the body based on the information and to restrict movement of the body to an area by preventing movement of the body beyond a barrier that is based on the orientation of the body and the initial location.

  • Patent number: 9866061
Abstract: A power supply apparatus with a protection function includes a pulse width modulation control unit, a pulse width modulation detecting unit, a switch unit and a feedback circuit. The feedback circuit detects a bus voltage. When the feedback circuit detects that the bus voltage is greater than a predetermined voltage, the feedback circuit sends an informing signal to the pulse width modulation control unit. The pulse width modulation control unit adjusts a duty cycle of a pulse width modulation signal and sends the pulse width modulation signal to the pulse width modulation detecting unit. When the pulse width modulation detecting unit detects that the duty cycle of the pulse width modulation signal is less than a predetermined cycle, the pulse width modulation detecting unit turns off the switch unit to stop outputting power to avoid a reverse current phenomenon.

  • Publication number: 20170342509
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and compositions for identifying soybean plants that are tolerant, have improved tolerance or are susceptible to Fusarium solani infection (the causative agent of sudden death syndrome or SDS). The methods use molecular genetic markers to identify, select and/or construct disease-tolerant plants or identify and counter-select disease-susceptible plants. Soybean plants that display tolerance or improved tolerance to Fusarium solani infection that are generated by the methods of the invention are also a feature of the invention.

  • Patent number: 9823863
Abstract: Data associated with logical addresses are received where the data is to be stored on a plurality of solid state storage dies and each of the plurality of solid state storage dies is independently accessible. Metadata is generated that includes the logical addresses where the metadata and the data sum to an amount of information that is less than a maximum amount of information that can be written to the plurality of solid state storage dies in a single write operation. The metadata and the data are stored in the plurality of solid state storage dies.

  • Patent number: 9798706
Abstract: In a method for generating an electronic signature, a web server provides a webpage to be displayed on a touch screen of an electronic device, receives a representative signal of a handwritten signature inputted by a signer and a dynamic image that presents a motion of the signer during signing the handwritten signature captured by the dynamic image capturing module simultaneously with the inputting of the handwritten signature. Afterward, the web server stores the dynamic image as a streaming file, compiles a data file that includes the representative signal and the streaming file, and executes the data file in the webpage as an electronic signature.

  • Patent number: 9786098
Abstract: A rendering method executed by a graphics processing unit includes: loading a vertex shading command from a first command queue to a shader module; executing the vertex shading command for computing the varying of the vertices to perform a vertex shading operation by taking the vertices as first input data; storing first tessellation stage commands into a second command queue; loading the first tessellation stage commands to the shader module; and executing the first tessellation commands for computing first tessellation stage outputs to perform a first tessellation stage of the one or more tessellation stages by taking the varying of the vertices as second input data. The vertex shading command is stored into the first command queue by a first processing unit. The varying of the vertices and the first tessellation stage outputs are stored in a cache of the graphics processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20170289768
Abstract: A portable electronic device may generate a (RF) radio frequency fingerprint that includes information representative of at least a portion of RF signals received at a given physical location. The RF fingerprint may include, for example, a unique identifier and a signal strength that are both logically associated with at least a portion of the received RF signals. The portable electronic device may also receive data representative of a number of environmental parameters about the portable electronic device. These environmental parameters may be measured using sensors carried by the portable electronic device. Considered in combination, these environmental parameters provide an environmental signature for a given location. When combined into a data cluster, the RF fingerprint and the environmental signature may provide an indication of the physical subdivision where the portable electronic device is located.
