  • Publication number: 20220045988
Abstract: A system and method for provisionally authenticating a host moving from a source port of a switch device to a destination port of the switch device is disclosed. The host is initially authenticated at the source port and blocked from forwarding network traffic at the destination port. During a provisional authentication session, an authentication agent executing on the switch intercepts one or more authentication packets sourced by the host and headed for the destination port of the switch device and redirects the authentication packets to an authentication server for validating the host at the destination port of the switch device. The switch device removes the block at the destination port in response to receiving an acknowledgment of successful authentication at the destination port from the authentication server.

  • Publication number: 20220045986
Abstract: A system and method for provisionally authenticating a host moving from one router to another router in a network using border gateway protocol (BGP) is disclosed. A host is initially authenticated at a first BGP router, this discovery is advertised to a second BGP router pursuant to BGP with a new extended community indicating successful authentication (or pre-authentication) of the host at the first BGP router. An indication for re-authentication of the host at the second BGP router is then received, which blocks network traffic from the host to the second BGP router. Due to the notification of a previous authentication of the host, the second BGP router begins a provisional authentication session. In response to a successful completion of the provisional authentication session, the host is authorized to transmit network traffic on the second BGP router and subsequently blocked from doing the same at the first BGP router.

  • Publication number: 20210358313
Abstract: Examples provide a method and apparatus for predicting airport utilization. A plurality of data sources provides raw flight data and weather data which is stored in a key value data store. The incoming raw data is cleaned, correlated and indexed. The processed data is stored in an interim data store. A plurality of competing predictive models use the processed data and historical data to generate predicted arrivals and departures for a selected runway during a selected time-period. The predicted data is compared to actual arrival and departures for the selected runway. The ML model generating predicted results most closely matching the actual arrival and departure data is selected. The selected ML model generates predicted future arrivals and future departures data for the runway based on real-time flight data and weather data for output via a user interface device.

  • Publication number: 20210283579
Abstract: A catalyst has a modified silica support and comprises a modifier metal, zirconium and/or hafnium, and a catalytic metal on the modified support. The catalyst has at least a proportion, typically, at least 25%, of modifier metal present in moieties having a total of up to 2 modifier metal atoms. The moieties may be derived from a monomeric and/or dimeric cation source. A method of production: provides a silica support with isolated silanol groups with optional treatment to provide isolated silanol groups (—SiOH) at a level of <2.5 groups per nm2; contacting the optionally treated silica support with a monomeric zirconium or hafnium modifier metal compound to effect adsorption onto the support; and optionally calcining the modified support for a time and temperature sufficient to convert the monomeric zirconium or hafnium compound adsorbed on the surface to an oxide or hydroxide of zirconium or hafnium in preparation for catalyst impregnation.

  • Patent number: 11074033
Abstract: Controlled access to a physical area or secured service is managed using sonic tones. A secret key is stored in a user device and in a security system, and then when access is desired, the secret key or a derivative thereof is encoded into a sonic tone which is transmitted. The sonic tone is received and decoded to obtain the encoded binary message, which is then compared to an expected binary message, and if there is a match, access is granted by the security system. In illustrated particular embodiments the secret key is used to generate a one-time password based upon the secret key and a randomizing factor, such as the current time.

  • Publication number: 20210215668
Abstract: Methods for analyzing a urine sample to determine if it contains a microorganism linked to an infection. The method comprising: providing culture-independent urine sample from patient; and analyzing the sample; where the culture-independent urine sample contains a microorganism linked to a UTI if at least one decarboxylated amino acid metabolite selected from agmatine, putrescine or cadaverine is detected in the culture-independent urine sample. The presence of agmatine is strongly indicative of a urinary tract infection caused by a majority of UTI-causing microorganisms. Another method for sample analysis, for or apart from UTI issues, employs liquid chromatography and mass spectroscopy of eluents separated using continuous chromatography of a sample spiked with an amount of isotopically labelled target compound.
