  • Publication number: 20100202290
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and controller for controlling an information flow in a data transmission system. In one embodiment, the method and controller receives a plurality of data packets. The method and controller further generate a modified information flow by providing a variable spacing between the data packets that is exponentially distributed. The variable spacing between the data packets may be random or pseudo-random.

  • Publication number: 20090161880
Abstract: The invention generally relates to a method and apparatus for taking an input signal, replicating it a number of times and modifying each of the replicas before routing them to respective output transducers such that a desired sound field is created. This sound field may comprise a directed beam, focused beam or a simulated origin. In a first aspect, delays are added to sound channels to remove the effects of different travelling distances. In a second aspect, a delay is added to a video signal to account for the delays added to the sound channels. In a third aspect, different window functions are applied to each channel to give improved flexibility of use. In a fourth aspect, a smaller extent of transducers is used top output high frequencies than are used to output low frequencies. An array having a larger density of transducers near the center is also provided. In a fifth aspect, a line of elongate transducers is provided to give good directivity in a plane.

  • Patent number: 7535835
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and controller for controlling an information flow in an acyclic data transmission system including receiving a plurality of data packets, and allocating a priority level for each data packet including a class of loss for the data packet and a class of urgency of service for the data packet. The method and controller also include servicing the data packets in accordance with the priority levels and outputting the data packets at a configured rate.

  • Patent number: 7499400
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and controller for controlling an information flow in a data transmission system including receiving a plurality of data packets having a received packet length and at a received sample rate. The method and controller also includes determining a configured packet length for each data packet based on a configured service rate for each data packet. The method and controller may also include scheduling each data packet in accordance with a respective configured packet length.

  • Publication number: 20090012893
Abstract: A method for enabling collaborative processing of data by one or more computers or digital data processing systems. The computer(s) compute a value representative of a first yield for a first instrument, the first instrument being a derivative of an underlying financial instrument, the first instrument being a non-fixed-income instrument. The computer(s) compute a second yield of a second financial instrument. The computer(s) control automated trading of the first instrument based at least in part on comparison of the first yield value with a computed second yield of a second financial instrument, and/or based on comparison of a differential of the first instrument value over change in market interest rates against a differential of the second instrument value over change in market interest rates, the control balancing sizes of positions in the first instrument and second instrument to achieve a desired financial risk profile.

  • Publication number: 20080270619
Abstract: A method for use in off-line P2P communication to be executed in a communication network system is proposed, comprising: receiving a request for registering off-line P2P communication service from a UE; judging whether the UE satisfies the predefined requirements for performing off-line P2P communication according to the request; generating an authentication information according to the judgment result, the authentication information indicating whether the UE can use off-line P2P communication service; sending the authentication information to the UE.
