  • Publication number: 20180260150
Abstract: A computing device includes an interface configured to interface and communicate with a dispersed storage network (DSN), a memory that stores operational instructions, and a processing module operably coupled to the interface and memory such that the processing module, when operable within the computing device based on the operational instructions, is configured to perform various operations. For example, the computing device generates and transmits a read request for a set of encoded data slices (EDSs) of a data object to primary storage units (SUs). The data object is stored within primary and secondary SUs. The computing device then receives at least the read threshold number of EDSs from the plurality of primary SUs. The primary SUs operate selectively to provide the at least the read threshold number of EDSs to the computing device either from memory of primary SU(s) or from secondary SU(s).

  • Publication number: 20180260889
Abstract: Retrieval of mortgage documents is faster and simpler for auditing purposes. Network addresses and other sourcing data may be hashed and integrated into a blockchain. The sourcing data identifies a device, server, or other network location from which the mortgage documents may be retrieved. Any auditor receiving the blockchain may thus perform a reverse lookup to retrieve the mortgage documents. The auditor merely queries for a cryptographic source key to determine the network location storing the corresponding mortgage document.

  • Publication number: 20180256803
Abstract: A medical infusion fluid handling system, such as an automated peritoneal dialysis system, may be arranged to de-cap and connect one or more lines (such as solution lines) with one or more spikes or other connection ports on a fluid handling cassette. This feature may reduce a likelihood of contamination since no human interaction is required to de-cap and connect the one or more lines and the one or more spikes. For example, the automated peritoneal dialysis system may include a carriage arranged to receive the one or more lines each having a connector end and a cap. The carriage may move along a first direction so as to move the connector ends of the one or more lines along the first direction, and a cap stripper may be arranged to engage with the caps on the the one or more lines on the carriage. The cap stripper may move in a second direction transverse to the first direction, as well as to move with the carriage along the first direction.
