  • Publication number: 20180262485
Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling a Kerberos-based authentication system to provide a client with access to a plurality of unmodifiable components that require plain text passwords. Such an approach enables a user to sign into a distributed computer system using a single password, and access multiple components that require different passwords without the need to enter a second password. By using Kerberos based authentication, passwords are not unnecessarily sent throughout distributed computing system where they may be vulnerable. A proxy key distribution center can be used to manage passwords or other credentials on behalf of various clients, which can be used with various processes discussed herein.

  • Publication number: 20180256754
Abstract: An administration device comprising an array of needles, one or more fluid agents, and at least one hydrogel is described. The device can simultaneously deliver a plurality of fluid agents along respective axes into a tissue. The use of hydrogel leads to constrained delivery of the fluid agents. The constrained delivery of an agent is also achieved by depositing a drug implant into a tissue. The effect of an agent on the tissue can be evaluated thereafter. In addition, the invention is directed to treating muscle diseases by delivering a therapeutic agent in vivo, and the use of reporter tissues for candidate drug evaluation, detecting and characterizing resistance.

  • Publication number: 20180260823
Abstract: Computer server(s) obtain first attributes of first objects in a first data set and determine second attributes of a specified second object of a second data set of second objects. The first data set is filtered based on first attributes to generate an initial subset of first objects and a statistical data file for each object in the initial subset. The statistical data file for each object in the initial subset is processed to generate a corresponding matching value representing a degree of matching with second attributes of the specified second object. The statistical data file is used to generate a corresponding predicted effect value predicting an effect of each object in the initial subset on the specified second object.

  • Publication number: 20180259765
Abstract: The embodiments described herein provide scanners with a modular construction that includes a separately formed scan plate coupled to a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) flexure structure. Such modular scanners, when incorporated into laser scanning devices, reflect laser light into a pattern of scan lines. In general, the modular scanner includes a scan plate that is formed separately from the flexure structure. The scan plate and flexure structure each include coupling features that serve to couple the scan plate to the flexure structure. The flexure structure includes flexure arms that facilitate rotation of the scan plate to reflect laser light into a pattern of scan lines.

  • Publication number: 20180262575
Abstract: In an embodiment, a subordinate mobile communication device (SMCD) receives a content access profile from a dispatcher. The content access profile includes (i) proxy server selection criteria to facilitate the SMCD to select between a plurality of proxy servers based on a current transport mechanism type (e.g., WiFi, 3G, Satellite, etc.), each of the plurality of proxy servers being configured by the dispatcher to provide different degrees of support for Internet-based services to the SMCD, and/or (ii) a set of Internet-based service access rules to facilitate the SMCD to independently determine whether to grant or deny access by the SMCD to Internet-based services based on the current transport mechanism type of a connection between the SMCD and an access network. The SMCD determines its current transport mechanism type and uses the content access profile to selectively engage with a given Internet-based service.
