  • Patent number: 7355283
Abstract: A rigid wave pattern formed on a first side of a substrate in a semiconductor die package. The rigid wave pattern aligns with and overlies the contact fingers formed on the second side of the substrate. When the substrate and dice are encased during the molding process, the rigid wave pattern effectively reduces deformation of and stresses on the dice, therefore substantially alleviating die cracking.

  • Publication number: 20080042651
Abstract: A HIFU compatible receiving coil for MRI radio-frequency signals has an antenna and an amplifier connected to each other, each for receiving and amplifying MRI radio-frequency signals, and a filter positioned in front of the amplifier for filtering the HIFU low frequency signals received by the antenna at the same time as receiving the MRI radio-frequency signals. In a method for receiving the MRI radio-frequency signals and then for amplifying the same, the received MRI radio-frequency signals are filtered before being amplified, so as to filter out the HIFU signals received at the same time as the MRI radio-frequency signals. By this filtering, the HIFU signals among the HIFU signals and MRI radio-frequency signals simultaneously received by the antenna are filtered out at the same time as the HIFU treatment, and the remaining MRI radio-frequency signals are connected into the MRI system after being amplified by the amplifier for real-time imaging.

  • Patent number: 7313482
Abstract: Nucleic acid hybridization under steady-state conditions is described by a kinetic model in which the intermediate state is assumed to be locally single stranded. An expression was derived that relates nucleic acid secondary structure to the rate of oligonucleotide-RNA hybridization. The model allows the calculation of a rate factor that is proportional to the rate constant for hybridization between complementary nucleic acids and is generally applicable to any RNA molecule with potential utility for rapid identification of sites for antisense attack of mRNA.

  • Patent number: 7307959
Abstract: A system for locating optical network elements and determining span loss in a network is described. The geographical locations of the first and second network elements in the network are determined with respect to an earth-based coordinate system. A network management system program displays iconic representations of the first and second network elements relative to one another with respect to the coordinate system. The distance between the first and second network elements over a network span linking the two network elements is determined. The transmission loss of the span is determined by multiplying the calculated distance by a transmission loss factor associated with the transmission medium coupling the first and second network elements. The component losses associated with each of the first and second network elements is determined using known specifications or direct measurement. The span loss is determined by adding the component losses with the transmission loss of the medium.

  • Patent number: 7279895
Abstract: The present invention proposes a fast GeneRalized Autocalibrating Partially Parallel Acquisition (GRAPPA) image reconstruction algorithm for magnetic resonance imaging. The algorithm simplifies data fitting and channel merging in the process of reconstruction into a one-step linear calculation. Parameters needed to perform the linear calculation step can be pre-calculated and stored, thereby greatly increasing the image reconstruction speed and solving the problem of the relatively long image reconstruction time needed by prior art GRAPPA algorithms. Also, the algorithm can employ a weighting matrix to conveniently compare signal-to-noise ratio losses of images brought by different types of reconstruction methods in image domain and frequency domain.

  • Patent number: 7253626
Abstract: A receiver coil loop for a magnetic resonance imaging system has a tuning loop for adjusting a tuning capacitor to make the tuning loop resonate at a center frequency a detuning loop for maintaining the receiver coil loop in a non-working state when the transmitter coil is emitting signals, and a matching loop for matching the tuning loop at the center frequency. The tuning loop and the detuning loop share a capacitor, and the tuning capacitor and the shared capacitor are connected in parallel. In such a receiver coil loop, the value of the tuning capacitor is reduced, the frequency tuning range of the tuning capacitor is broadened; the capacitive reactance generated by the entire circuit is reduced, and the tuning capacitor Ctuning is protected against breakdown under high voltage without increasing the loss of the circuit.
