  • Publication number: 20110167897
Abstract: A method of determining surface pore diameter distribution of a porous material is provided. A compressed gas is charged from backside of a sample of a porous body, a surface of the sample is immersed into a liquid wetting agent, and a gas pressure is regulated from high to low, such that pore mouths of the surface of the porous body are blocked by the wetting agent in an order from small to large pore sizes, and a gas flow rate is more rapidly decreased. When the pressure is decreased to a value, the gas flow rate is reduced to zero and the pressure at this time is corresponding to the largest pore mouth size of the surface of the porous body. The pore size distribution is determined by comparing the obtained gas pressure—flow rate curve (wet curve) with a gas pressure—flow rate curve (dry curve) obtained for the sample under a dry state. The pore size and the pore distribution are calculated based on the conventional bubble pressure method.

  • Patent number: 7957609
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for producing an image using an imaging system by weighting: i) the signals transmitted from at least one element of a transducer array to form limited diffraction transmitted beams or the transmitted beams are steered with linear time delay over transducer aperture; and, ii) weighting the echo signals received at the separate elements to form limited diffraction receive beams or doing Fourier transformations of the echo signals over the transducer aperture. Fourier transformations of the weighted or Fourier transformed signals form multi-dimensional k-space data sets which are used to interpolate into a rectilinear k-space of the object to be imaged. Inverse Fourier transformation along each dimension of the rectilinear k-space to produce an image.

In one embodiment, the network comprises a content-based network such as a cable television or satellite network, and the applications are disposed at the network headend. A servlet is provided to facilitate communication between the applications and client devices. The servlet acts as a proxy for applications utilizing a different content format than the client devices. The applications obtain data from e.g., an internet host server via a gateway device. The client application(s) may comprise Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) pages, and are configured so as to permit use via a common interface (e.g., the user's set top box and television display). These client applications enable a user to, for example, search the internet for data relating to displayed content, post and navigate micro-blogs, instant messaging or SMS, making telephone calls (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20110021546
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, novel gene deletions and translocations involving chromosome 2 resulting in fusion proteins combining part of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) kinase with part of a secondary protein have now been identified in human solid tumors, e.g. non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Secondary proteins include Echinoderm Microtubule-Associated Protein-Like 4 (EML-4) and TRK-Fusion Gene (TFG). The EML4-ALK fusion protein, which retains ALK tyrosine kinase activity, was confirmed to drive the proliferation and survival of NSCLC characterized by this mutation. The invention therefore provides, in part, isolated polynucleotides and vectors encoding the disclosed mutant ALK kinase polypeptides, probes for detecting it, isolated mutant polypeptides, recombinant polypeptides, and reagents for detecting the fusion and truncated polypeptides.
