  • Patent number: 6292980
Abstract: There is disclosed a hinge mechanism for use in a portable phone having a phone body and a cover, the hinge mechanism configured to mechanically couple the cover to the phone body. The hinge mechanism includes at least one hinge module mounted to the phone body and configured to hinge the cover with respect to the phone body for opening and closing the cover. The hinge module includes a hinge housing having a bottom wall and a pair of opposite lateral end walls spaced from each other, one of the lateral walls having a hole. The hinge housing also has a pair of opposite longitudinal end walls spaced from each other. A hinge shaft is mounted in the housing and has a mountain-shaped portion provided with a pair of opposite cam surfaces at one longitudinal portion thereof and a shaft portion at the other longitudinal portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 6256481
Abstract: A device for electrically connecting a microphone mounted on a flip cover to an audio circuit of a telephone body. The flip cover is detachable from the telephone body when an excessive force is applied thereto. A hinge apparatus includes two hinge modules each including a hinge housing, a hinge shaft having a protrusion at an end and a shaft at another end, being assembled into the hinge housing; conductive means fixedly pressed into a through hole formed along an axis of the hinge shaft; a cam hinge having opposing protrusions and opposing indents formed alternately at one side, engaging with the hinge shaft, and a through hole formed along the axis of the hinge shaft; a hinge cover mounted so as to cover an end of the hinge housing, the hinge cover having a through hole formed along the axis of the hinge shaft, through which an electric wire passes; and a coil spring intervening between the cam hinge and the hinge cover to provide an elastic force.

  • Patent number: 6150640
Abstract: A temperature controller for electric cooking appliances includes a activating button movably provided on an outer surface and a temperature controller fixed inside an electric cooking appliance. The temperature controller has a shaft and a gear fixed on an end of the shaft. The activating button has a connect member extending in the electric cooking appliance, and a base connected to the connect member, which has a rack formed under an upper wall to engage the gear. The rack has a width at least equal to the linear moving distance of the shaft. Then the activating button is moved rightward and leftward, letting the base with the rack move also so that the gear is rotated by the rack, with the shaft rotating to move forward or backward so as to set the wide range of temperature with many stages to be got for heating the electric cooking appliance.

  • Patent number: 6141311
Abstract: An anti-dust cover driving device for a CD player includes a base body, a laser head base unit mounted on the base body and having a laser head. An anti-dust cover is provided above the base body, moved to hide the laser head or not by a driving device consisting of a gear, a shaft, an activating means, and a power device for rotating the gear and the shaft. The anti-dust cover does not hide the laser head when a CD player cover is closed, but is moved to hide the laser head when the CD player cover is opened by means of the driving device. Therefore, the laser head is always hidden and prevented from having dust fall on it whether the CD player is closed or opened. And the anti-dust cover is moved within a short distance, not moving out of the dimensions of the CD player.
