    Abstract: An apparatus to aid in the accurate installation of a frame by establishing a required gap and alignment is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a block of material with pre-determined dimensions related to the standard or custom dimensions of the frame and standard or custom dimensions of a subsequent stud and dry wall to be installed. The block of material has a slot running along the length of at least one side with the slot having a pre-determined depth and width corresponding to standard or custom dimensions of an outer lip of the frame to be installed for fitting the block of material onto the outer lip. A securing system for temporarily securing the block of material to the outer lip is also provided. The slot is offset from an edge of the block of material by a distance corresponding to the required gap and alignment to be established.

    Abstract: A method of forming a disposable, refastenable absorbent article is disclosed. The method includes directing a first material parallel to and spaced apart from a second material. A pair of lines of perforations is formed across the width of the first material. A pair of attachment members is then secured to the first material such that each bridges across one of the pair of lines of perforations. An absorbent assembly is secured across the first and second materials to form a subassembly. The subassembly is then folded and the first and second materials are bonded together by first and second seam lines. The first and second materials are then separated at locations outward from each of the first and second seam lines to form a disposable, refastenable absorbent article.

    Abstract: A rotary die cutter for forming a non-linear line of perforations in a strip of material is disclosed. The rotary die cutter includes a rotatable anvil roll and a rotatable knife roll. The knife roll has a peripheral surface with at least one knife formed thereon. The knife has a non-linear configuration. The knife extends across at least about half of the width of the knife roll and has a plurality of land areas each separated by a notch. The knife roll is coaxially aligned with the anvil roll to form a nip therebetween through which the strip of material can pass. For each rotation of the die cutter, the knife will pass through the strip of material and be brought into direct contact with the anvil roll and form a non-linear line of perforations in the strip of material.

    Abstract: A spinal fixation system for use in the mobilization of a sequence of spinal bones includes a unique pedicle screw assembly. The pedicle screw assembly includes a pedicle screw having a head portion pivotally secured within a base of a body and a threaded shaft portion extending therefrom for insertion into the spinal bone. The body includes a rod passageway adapted to receive a rod extending between two or more pedicle screw assemblies. The body includes oppositely threaded internal and external threads. A set screw having exterior threads engages the internal threads of the body so as to be selectively disposed therein and in contact with the rod. A nut having internal threads engages the external threads of the body. The set screw and nut are preferably simultaneously fastened by turning in opposite directions to counteract the forces applied to the assembly and spinal bones.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for finishing a garment comprising, in combination a buck in the general form of a wearer having a front, a back and opposite lateral sides therebetween and adapted to hold at least a front and back of the garment in an orientation for being pressed. A pair of elongated arms are positioned on opposite lateral sides of the buck, the elongated arms extending away from the buck to finish the sleeve of the garment and contracting towards the buck to load and unload the garment. A long sleeve garment is finished through the use of a clip positioned at an upper end of each of the elongated arms. The clips are formed with resiliently urged fingers and adapted to receive an area of the long sleeve garment and form an obstruction for the flow of heated air and steam therethrough during a finishing operation. In the alternative, a clamp is provide along the length of each of the elongated arms to finish a short sleeve garment on the same pressing apparatus.

Specifically, virtual path identifier (VPI) and virtual channel identifier (VCI) Availability Indexes are made available to network administrators. The Availability Indexes present valid, available values. Thus, the potential for misconfigurations is reduced and even less experienced network administrators may easily configure virtual connections. The Availability Indexes provide administrators with control over exactly which paths and channels are allocated for each connection while eliminating the guesswork and tracking burden present in current network/element management systems. Availability Indexes also reduce the time and frustration required to configure virtual connections.

Thereafter, at least one feature device is coupled to the first system bus, the second system bus, and the management bus. The feature device is also configured to communicate system processor communications with the first system processor via the first system bus. Next, a problem that affects system processor communications over the first system bus between the feature device and the first system processor is detected. In response to detecting such a communications problem, a command is sent to the feature device via the management bus.

    Abstract: An apparatus for causing the polymerized excess monomer to separate from a molded lens by increasing the surface energy of the flange area of one mold piece, causing the polymerized excess monomer to stick thereto. Specifically when manufactured under inert atmosphere conditions, a particular manifold is needed to supply an oxygen bearing gas, air, to the area to be treated while preventing the oxygen from contaminating the lens manufacturing area of the molds or diluting the nitrogen atmosphere of other lens process areas. It has been found that generation of the ionized oxygen by means of a corona treatment electrode sufficiently increases the adherence of the polymer to the mold piece so treated.
