  • Publication number: 20150112430
Abstract: A heart valve therapy system including a delivery device and a stented valve. The delivery device includes an outer sheath, an inner shaft, an optional hub assembly, and a plurality of tethers. In a delivery state, a stent frame of the prosthesis is crimped over the inner shaft and maintained in a compressed condition by the outer sheath. The tethers are connected to the stent frame. In a partial deployment state, the outer sheath is at least partially withdrawn, allowing the stent frame to self-expand. Tension in the tethers prevents the stent frame from rapidly expanding and optionally allowing recapture. Upon completion of the stent frame expansion, the tethers are withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 8881099
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically generating proxy classes in order to enforce call-by-value semantics between clients and EJBs collocated with a virtual machine. The virtual machine can be a Java virtual machine (JVM) or some other type of virtual machine. The proxy classes are dynamically generated at runtime using dynamic byte code generation. Generated proxies are then interposed between a client and an EJB. The interposition of the generated proxies allows the proxies to intercept communication between the client and the EJB. The dynamically generated wrapper classes may be used in any system wherein a first entity invokes a second entity, wherein the second entity has an interface that can be retrieved or introspected and utilizes call-by-value semantics.

  • Publication number: 20140135909
Abstract: The delivery systems disclosed herein can create simultaneous movement of an inner and an outer sheath of the delivery system. The delivery systems can generally include a handle assembly and a delivery catheter. In certain embodiments, the inner shaft and the outer sheath can be slidably controlled by a control element in the handle. The handle assembly can include a housing with a thumbwheel acting as the control element. In certain embodiments, movement of the inner shaft and the outer sheath can be caused via a gear-type system. In certain embodiments, the handle assembly can include a rotatable housing. • Publication number: 20140095505
Abstract: Systems and methods that allow for an intelligence platform for distributed processing of big data sets including both structured and unstructured data types across two or more intelligent data operation engine servers. The intelligent data operation engine servers can form a conceptual understanding of content in each electronic file and then cooperates with a distributed index handler to index the conceptual understanding of the electronic file. A query pipeline and the distributed index handler in the intelligence platform cooperate with the two or more intelligent data operation engine servers to improve scalability and performance on the big data sets containing both structured and un-structured electronic files represented in the common index.

  • Publication number: 20140067053
Abstract: A method for loading a prosthesis onto a delivery system includes passing a distal end of a delivery system through a first open end and a second open end of a reducing member. The method includes seating the prosthesis in a piston member of a cap by contacting a first end of the prosthesis with a first surface of the piston member and by contacting a portion of a side of the prosthesis with at least one side wall extending from the periphery of the first surface. Additionally, the method includes inserting the distal end of the delivery system into a center of the prosthesis and an opening defined by the piston member. And the method includes advancing the cap towards a reducing member such that a portion of the prosthesis seated in the piston member advances along an inner surface of the conical wall of the reducing member.

  • Publication number: 20140031922
Abstract: Heart valve delivery systems and methods of delivering and implanting heart valves using delivery catheters are disclosed. The delivery systems can include a handle assembly with a rotatable control knob and a catheter including an introducer shaft, an intermediate shaft extending from the handle assembly, an inner shaft extending from the handle assembly, and a capsule for containing a prosthesis. The distal end of the capsule can be connected to a distal end of the inner shaft, which can be moved in a distal direction by the rotatable control knob to deploy the prosthesis. By advancing the introducer through the deployed prosthesis and retracting the capsule to mate with the introducer, a smooth profile can be created for retraction of the system through the deployed prosthesis, minimizing hang-ups and snagging.
