  • Publication number: 20170116169
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method manages data integrity of an electronic form. In the method, a request from a client device for access to the electronic form is received. Access is provided during a session to the electronic form to the client device, wherein the electronic form is configured to receive user input into fields of the electronic form via the client device, the user input comprising one or more field values corresponding to the fields of the electronic form, transmit the user input to at least one computing device, and transmit a publication request message to the at least one computing device, the publication request message indicative of an end of a session. The user input is received. During the session and before receiving the publication request message, the one or more field values of the user input is updated in a pre-publication database.

  • Patent number: 9618369
Abstract: Various uses of visible light interference patterns are provided. Suitable interference patterns are those formed by diffraction from patterns of apertures. Typical uses disclosed herein relate to spatial metrology, such as a translational and/or angular position determination system. Further uses include the analysis of properties of the light itself (such as the determination of the wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation). Still further uses include the analysis of one or more properties (e.g. refractive index) of the matter through which the light passes. Part of the interference pattern is captured at a pixellated detector, such as a CCD chip, and the captured pattern compared with a calculated pattern. Very precise measurements of the spacing between maxima is possible, thus allowing very precise measurements of position of the detector in the interference pattern.

  • Publication number: 20170099198
Abstract: A monitoring system includes one or more units that are adapted monitor the radio frequency conditions of a facility or portion of the facility. The units include a packet sniffer and/or an RF spectrum analyzer. Sniffed packets and spectrum data are recorded and made available for analysis and display, either locally on the units or at one or more remote locations. The locations of the units are also gathered, thereby enabling correlation of the sniffed packets and/or RF spectrum data with locations within the facility. Real time RF conditions can thereby be gathered and used to improve the wireless communications within the facility and/or to ensure the wireless communication infrastructure of the facility is operating satisfactorily. The units may be person support apparatuses, such as beds, chairs, stretchers, cots, or the like.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing illness outside of a hospital environment are provided. A plurality of alert generation definitions is stored with each of the definitions defining at least one condition for generating an alert. A patient profile data structure for a patient is generated which includes indicators of characteristics of the patient. Monitoring data is received, which reflects at least one of (i) physiological indicators of the patient; and (ii) indicators of medical supplies being ordered or consumed by the patient. An alert relating to patient healthcare is generated by applying at least one of the alert generation definitions to the received monitoring data. Population data reflective of healthcare outcomes for a patient population is received. At least one further alert generation definition is generated upon processing the population data, and the at least one further alert generation definition is stored.

  • Patent number: 9595143
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods for continuously authenticating individuals are provided. A continuous authentication system receives first biometric authentication information from an individual. The system compares the first biometric authentication information to stored first biometric information to identify the individual and links the identified individual to a device for obtaining second biometric authentication information. The device for obtaining second biometric authentication information continuously receives second biometric authentication information. The continuous authentication system compares the received second biometric authentication information to stored second biometric information that corresponds to the individual to determine if the received second biometric authentication information corresponds to the individual.

  • Publication number: 20170029857
Abstract: Methods for amplifying nucleic acids are provided. The methods can be used to minimise sequence specific bias caused by the preferential amplification of certain nucleic acid sequences. Methods are described which can lower the efficiency of AT rich templates relative to GC rich templates, thereby minimising GC bias during amplification reactions with multiple templates of different sequence. The methods are suited to solid phase amplification, for example, utilising flow cells.

  • Publication number: 20160335567
Abstract: An airline operations system, controller and method reschedules flights affected by a disruption that precludes a planned schedule for the flights. The method includes obtaining data related to a scheduled origination and a scheduled destination for each of a set of passengers scheduled on the flights, generating a passenger connection network of connections between the scheduled origination and the scheduled destination for a subset of the set of passengers, applying at least one criterion to the passenger connection network and rescheduling at least one connecting flight based on the criteria. The system and controller solves a network flow problem to reschedule a subset of connecting flights to have a delayed projected departure time. Resulting output can include the set of delayed flights along with modified projected departure times, a set of flight cancellations and a set of passengers with missed connections.

  • Patent number: 9495434
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards managing designations of a plurality of files across multiple clusters. Files may be designated as primary files or secondary files. Primary files at one cluster may be asynchronously replicated at another cluster as secondary files. Secondary files may be synchronously validated with remote primary files based on local file access requests. If a write request for a local secondary file is provided, then the local file may be designated as the primary file and the remote file may be designated as the secondary file. Local access may then be provided to the local primary file. If a read request for a local secondary file is provide, then local access may be provided to the local secondary file without changing file designations. In some embodiments, file designations may be preemptively changed based on a file change designation schedule for clusters at different geographic locations.
