  • Publication number: 20150283266
Abstract: Recombinant vectors containing at least: a backbone comprising essential sequences for integration into a target cell genome; a nucleic acid encoding a CCR5 RNAi operatively linked to a a first expression control element that regulates expression of the nucleic acid encoding the RNAi of the CCR5; a nucleic acid encoding at least the extracellular domain of CD25 operatively linked to a second expression control element that regulates expression of the nucleic acid encoding at least the extracellular domain of CD25 are provided by this disclosure. In an alternative aspect, the vector also contains polynucleotides encoding TRIM5alpha and HIV TAR decoy sequences along with gene expression regulation elements such as promoters operatively linked to the polynucleotides. The vectors are combined with packaging plasmid and envelope plasmids and optionally conjugated to cell-specific targeting antibodies. • Publication number: 20150270431
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recovering and stabilizing photovoltaic performance of a thin-film solar module after lamination. The method includes a LED light soaking treatment prior to a forward biasing treatment of the thin-film photovoltaic material formed on a glass panel. The apparatus for implementing the method comprises an in-line system for loading the laminated solar panel on a conveyor to pass through a first process station to allow a brief LED light illumination followed by disposing the same laminated glass panel in a second process station to receive a forward bias treatment including applying multiple short electrical pulses with a constant current through the thin-film solar module. The photovoltaic performance of the laminated thin-film solar module after these treatments is recovered to substantially a same level obtained in a bare-circuit configuration and is stabilized substantially free from being affected by any further long-time light soaking.

  • Patent number: 9108914
Abstract: Method to obtain methylene malonate and related monomers following a bis(hydroxymethyl) malonate pathway. A bis(hydroxymethyl) malonate intermediary is subsequently reacted (i.e., subjected to thermolysis) to provide a methylene malonate monomer species. A source of formaldehyde (e.g., formalin) is provided in the presence of a basic catalyst (e.g., calcium hydroxide), to which a malonate (e.g., diethyl malonate) is added under suitable reaction conditions to obtain the desired intermediary (e.g., dialkyl bis(hydroxymethyl) malonate). The intermediary is reacted (i.e., subjected to thermolysis) under suitable conditions in the presence of a suitable catalyst (e.g., a zeolite) to obtain a methylene malonate monomer. In an exemplary embodiment, the thermolysis reaction includes the addition of the bis(hydroxymethyl) malonate intermediary onto a heated catalyst. The reaction product is collected and purified. The disclosed methods may be performed in a continuous operation.

  • Publication number: 20150041574
Abstract: A method for treating process material using a plurality of autoclaves, wherein each of the plurality of autoclaves cycles through the following steps: introducing a steam from one or more of the plurality of autoclaves to the interior of the vessel; increasing the temperature within the vessel by adding heat to the interior of the vessel using an indirect heat source; reducing the temperature and pressure within the vessel by venting a portion of the steam within the interior of the vessel to another one of the plurality vessels; increasing the temperature within the vessel by continuing to add heat to the interior of the vessel using the indirect heat source; reducing a moisture content of the process material in the interior of vessel to a predetermined value by conveying the steam to another one of the plurality of vessels.
