  • Patent number: 7220360
Abstract: This invention offers an integrated technology in sequential treatment of wastewater. Low biodegradable organics and heavy metal ions are both contained in wastewater from surface finishing processes. The aim of the invention is to find the solution for treatment of organics and heavy metal ions in complicated wastewater that contains organics and heavy metal ions sequentially. Low biodegradable organics are oxidized by a fenton process with pH ranging from 2 to 5 and temperature ranging from 20° C. to 100° C. Heavy metal ions are then treated by a ferrite process with pH ranging from 8 to 12 and temperature ranging from 20° C. to 100° C. The integrated technology of the fenton process and the ferrite process (2FP) is advantageous to treat the wastewater from surface finishing processes, decrease the production of iron sludge caused in the fenton process and increase the quality of ferrite products.

  • Patent number: 7155686
Abstract: A new method to optimize a signal routing in an integrated circuit is achieved. The method comprises providing a signal routing in an integrated circuit layout. The signal routing comprises a configuration of metal lines in a stack of metal levels. Each metal level is separated from an underlying substrate by dielectric material. A Joule heating estimate is calculated for the signal routing. The Joule heating estimate is compared to a standard value. The signal routing is updated if the Joule heating estimate exceeds the standard value. The updating comprises generating a new configuration of the metal lines in the metal levels. The new configuration reduces the Joule heating. The steps of calculating, comparing, and updating are repeated if the Joule heating estimate still exceeds the standard value. Joule heating is reduced by either routing on lower metal levels or by coupling the signal routing to a heat sink.

  • Patent number: 6508931
Abstract: A process for the production of white oil includes adding a supercritical fluid (propane, butane or carbon dioxide) to the base oil and hydrogen injected into a reactor for hydrogenation. The base oil and supercritical fluid use high-pressure injector pumps as the feed system. The feed system for hydrogen uses a high-pressure compressor to compress hydrogen from a hydrogen tank to a storage tank, then a mass flow controller is used to steadily feed the hydrogen. A static mixer mounted in line, upstream from the inlet of the reactor mixes the reactant well. Several thermocouples are connected to the reactor, inlet and outlet of said reactor to measure the temperatures of the reaction. The detected data from the thermocouples are transferred to a six-point thermograph. The pressure of the reaction is maintained by a back pressure regulator that is mounted downstream from the outlet of said reactor. After the hydrogenation reaction is complete, the pressure of the fluid in the outlet of the reactor is reduced.
