  • Publication number: 20040247890
Abstract: A water-disintegrable resin film, characterized in that it exhibits a tensile strength of 2 N/25 mm width or more after the surface thereof is pressed by a cotton gauze impregnated with water of 40° C. with a pressure of 1.47 N/cm2 for 5 hours under a condition wherein the temperature is 40° C. and the relative humidity is 90%, and exhibits a start time for the disintegration thereof by water, which means the time needed until it starts to lose its form, of 600 seconds or less, in a test nearly according to JIS P 4501 for the capability of being united. The water-disintegrable resin film has a predetermined mechanical strength under a wet and warm or hot condition and also exhibits excellent disintegradability for a large amount of water, and thus can be suitably used as a back sheet of a liner for sanitary goods, which requires the combination of good water resistance and good water-disintegradability.

  • Patent number: 6740463
Abstract: A method of producing a toner having a process of mixing colored particles and outer-additives by using a mixer with an agitating blade whose shaft portion is sealed with a gas having a flow rate of from 0.4 m3/hr to 3 m3/hr and which rotates at such a high speed as a peripheral speed at a tip of said agitating blade in a range of from 20 m/sec to 50 m/sec. When the colored particles and outer-additives are mixed with each other, there is no generation of aggregates thereby and the toner can be obtained at a high yield. Therefore the toner which hardly generates a white streak and fog, even after a long period of continuous operation of development of electrophotographs is performed, can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6706843
Abstract: For separation and recovery of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethyiene glycol (EG) from polyester waste containing foreign materials, the polyester waste is treated in EG containing a polyester depolymerization catalyst, a solid foreign material fraction floated on the surface of the resultant reaction solution is removed and the residual solid foreign material fraction is removed from the remaining solution fraction. The remaining solution fraction is distilled and concentrated and the distilled EG is recovered. A transesterification reaction catalyst and methanol are mixed into the distillation residue. The resultant reaction mixture is recrystallized and subjected to centrifugal separation to separate the reaction mixture into the DMT cake and a mixture solution, and then the cake is distilled whereby high-purity DMT is recovered. The residual mixture solution is subjected to distillation treatment for recovery of the methanol, and the distillation residue is distilled to recover EG.

  • Patent number: 6611486
Abstract: A unique recording medium having identification information such as a serial number or ID number inherent in the recording media as information signals recorded thereon, which is prevented from being easily erased or rewritten, without inducing the complexity of an optical disc reproducing apparatus in its configuration and the intricacy of the reading-out operation is realized. Recognition information is recorded to a recording medium which has a recognition information recording area for recording the recognition information, and at least the recognition information recording area is capable of additionally having information recorded thereto. In recording digitized recognition information to the recognition information recording area, the “1” is modulated to a signal having a first frequency and the “0” is modulated to a signal having a second frequency, and the signals corresponding to their respective frequencies are written to the recognition information recording area.

  • Patent number: 6596453
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a polymerized toner, including the step of polymerizing a polymerizable monomer composition containing at least a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in an aqueous medium. After polymerization, an aqueous dispersion containing polymer particles formed is subjected to stripping under reduced pressure in an evaporator after polymerization. At this time, the aqueous dispersion within the evaporator is continuously taken out of the evaporator and heated in an external heat exchanger, and the heated aqueous dispersion is returned to a liquid phase within the evaporator and subjected to stripping under reduced pressure within the evaporator while circulating the aqueous dispersion, thereby distilling off volatile organic compounds. By the production process, a polymerized toner markedly reduced in the content of a residual polymerizable monomer and having excellent properties is provided.

  • Patent number: 6584870
Abstract: A shift lever device having a shift lever which allows selection of an arbitrary shift range by shift operation and includes a support which rotatably supports the shift lever and includes breakable portions which break when an impact force above a preselected magnitude is applied to the shift lever. Accordingly, when an axial impact force indicative of a sudden deceleration is applied to the shift lever, the support is broken. The breakage of the support allows safer absorption of the impact force applied to the shift lever. The breakable portions may take the form of a frangible pin or bracket that pivotally supports the shift lever.
