  • Patent number: 9432694
Abstract: Video coding systems and methods protect against banding artifacts in decoded image content. According to the method, a video coder may identify, from content of pixel blocks of a frame of video data, which pixel blocks are likely to exhibit banding artifacts from the video coding/decoding processes. The video coder may assemble regions of the frame that are likely to exhibit banding artifacts based on the identified pixel blocks' locations with respect to each other. The video coder may apply anti-banding processing to pixel blocks within one or more of the identified regions and, thereafter, may code the processed frame by a compression operation.

  • Publication number: 20160237504
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for identifying early stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who will have an unfavorable prognosis for the recurrence of lung cancer after surgical resection. The methods are based in part on the discovery of chromosomal copy number abnormalities that can be used for prognostic classification. The methods preferably use fluorescence in situ hybridization with fluorescently labeled nucleic acid probes to hybridize to patient samples to quantify the chromosomal copy number of these genetic loci.

  • Patent number: 9420034
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for providing a service to multiple tenants of an application. Responsive to receiving from a client of a tenant a request, a tenant context of the tenant is bound to the request. With respect to an access to an isolation point of the application in the request, the access to the isolation point is redirected to a partition based on the tenant context bound to the request. The partition may be pre-established for the tenant with respect to the application. Hence, it is possible to provide a multi-tenant solution in a convenient, fast, and cost-effective way, and, in turn, to achieve resource sharing to a greater extent and enhance the resource efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20160196073
Abstract: A memory segment access method and apparatus relates to the field of computer technologies, which are used to resolve a problem of a relatively low memory access bandwidth caused by relatively low utilization of bandwidth resources in a multichannel memory system. The method includes acquiring, by a first scheduler, a quantity of to-be-sent memory access requests in a second scheduler, and receiving, by the first scheduler, a memory access request, and sending the memory access request through a second memory channel corresponding to the second scheduler.

  • Patent number: 9378904
Abstract: Disclosed is a handle locking device, including a first frame, a first snap hook and a second frame. A second snap hook is provided on the first frame; the first snap hook is rotatably mounted on the first frame; the second frame is rotatably mounted on the first frame; a protruding portion is formed on the second frame; and the protruding portion can push the first snap hook towards the first frame. By having the first snap hook and second snap hook disposed asymmetrically on the first frame, accidental mounting of the “OFF” position of the handle locking device in the “ON” position of the circuit breaker during installation by an operator can be avoided. Moreover, since the protruding portion can push the first snap hook towards the first frame, forced deformation of the snap claw and second snap hook can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20160163174
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and/or system for monitoring a user and transmitting an emergency notification is disclosed. The apparatus can monitor a user's overall wellness and adherence to a therapy regimen. The apparatus can also detect a variety of emergency situations affecting the user. For example, the apparatus can detect a fall affecting the user, the activation of an emergency indicator by the user, or an emergency based on vital signs and the overall wellness of the user. The apparatus can generate and transmit an alert notification in response to determining an emergency is affecting the user. The apparatus can select the form of the alert and the network on which to transmit the alert. The apparatus can determine the form of the alert and the network based on the severity of the emergency and the strength of the networks available to the apparatus. The form of the alert and the transmission network selected can optimize the likelihood of the alert notification being successfully transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20160161985
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and/or system for patient wellness monitoring using a wrist-worn device is disclosed. The wrist-worn device may include a faceplate device and a wristband monitoring device. Initially, a sensor of the wrist-worn device may be activated to collect sensor data of a user according to a first regimen. It may be determined that a battery level associated with the wrist-worn may is below a pre-determined threshold. As a result of the batter level, the wrist-worn device may be caused to store a portion of the sensor data in memory. The first regimen may be modified to generate a second regimen. Sensor activation may continue according to the second regimen.

  • Patent number: 9348493
Abstract: Methods and systems can provide custom electronic-channel content items to display when a device is in display state. It can be determined that a user device is subscribed to receive content items corresponding to a channel and to present one or more of the content items when the user device is in a display state. Data corresponding to the user device can be identified. The data can correspond to a physical or electronic action (e.g., an interaction with a presented content item or a purchase at a channel-associated virtual or physical store). A customization rule for the channel can be identified. A content item can be generated or selected using the customization rule and the data. It can be enabled for the content item to be presented on the user device when the user device is in the display state.

  • Patent number: 9338745
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and a system for network handover. The method includes: during a process that equipment hands over from a current network to another network, a driver receiving a network-disconnected message, and judging whether the network-disconnected message is sent from a Connection Manager (CM); if the network-disconnected message is sent from the CM, the driver reporting, to an operating system, a first signalling which identifies that the current network is disconnected; and if the network-disconnected message is not sent from the CM, the driver reporting, to the operating system, a second signalling which identifies that the current network is connected. By the adoption of the method and the system, power consumption of the equipment can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20160127738
Abstract: A scalable coding system codes video as a base layer representation and an enhancement layer representation. A base layer coder may code an LDR representation of a source video. A predictor may predict an HDR representation of the source video from the coded base layer data. A comparator may generate prediction residuals which represent a difference between an HDR representation of the source video and the predicted HDR representation of the source video. A quantizer may quantize the residuals down to an LDR representation. An enhancement layer coder may code the LDR residuals. In other embodiments, the enhancement layer coder may code LDR-converted HDR video directly.

  • Publication number: 20160117851
Abstract: A method of displaying statistical graphs on a terminal display includes the steps of: obtaining a count of subgraphs to be displayed in a statistical graph, the count having a value of N; selecting N number of sample points from a line in a color coordinate space; obtaining N number of colors corresponding to the N number of sample points for displaying the statistical graph, wherein colors of neighboring subgraphs correspond to neighboring sample points of the line, the N number of colors form a one to one relationship with the N sample points respectively; and displaying the statistical graph. The number of statistical data types can be used to select a same number of different colors to obtain a statistical graph with color gradients formed by its subgraphs for displaying. It solves the problem of the present statistical systems, with only a fixed number of colors for rendering statistical graphs, when the amount of statistical data types are tremendous, running out colors.
