  • Publication number: 20190153528
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of long range target specific amplification and sequencing using an RNA intermediate synthesized directly from the target including using hairpin adaptors having a double stranded promoter and an overhang which hybridizes with a reverse-complementary overhang on a target nucleic acid. RNA transcription eliminates clonal amplification of early synthesis errors. Approaches allow for the identification of target-adjacent sequence, such as sequence adjacent to a repeat element target. Also disclosed herein are compositions and kits for amplification and sequencing.

  • Publication number: 20180354812
Abstract: A control system for a water treatment apparatus that includes a control valve assembly having a servo chamber in which a stationary port defining signal ports is located. A regeneration control disc sealingly engages and rotates on a planar surface of the port disc and selectively communicates fluid signals to water pressure operated components within the control valve. An electric motor located in a dry chamber is operatively coupled to the regeneration control disc and rotates the disc during a regeneration cycle. An encoder coupled to the control disc monitors its position and movement. A turbine assembly monitors water treated or to be treated and is electronically coupled to a regeneration controller. A sensor emits pulses related to rotation of the usage turbine and communicates these pulses to the controller which uses this information to determine when a regeneration is needed whereupon the drive motor is appropriately energized.

  • Patent number: 9983122
Abstract: Technology is provided for an aqueous solution constituent analyzer. The analyzer includes an ultraviolet light emitting diode (LED) with a current source providing variable current thereto. A spectrometer is positioned for receiving light from the LED transmitted through an aqueous solution. A controller receives radiant flux data for a plurality of wavelengths and determines, based on the radiant flux data, a usable number of the plurality of wavelengths that satisfies a relative uncertainty threshold. The controller can increase the current to the LED if the usable number of wavelengths is less than a minimum threshold and calculate a concentration of a constituent of interest in the solution. The controller can also determine a peak wavelength of the plurality of wavelengths having the greatest intensity value, and decrease the current level to the LED if the peak wavelength has an intensity value greater than a saturation value for the spectrometer.
