  • Publication number: 20100109180
Abstract: Method for cooling flat plastic products, in which plasticized plastic compound is fed to a calender via a slot nozzle by means of an extruder and is rolled and calibrated to the desired shape in this calender between at least two smoothing rolls, after which the film or sheet produced in this way is fed to a chill section comprising a plurality of adjustable rolls and passes through this section until it is sufficiently cool and dimensionally stable, at least both the gap width between the rolls and the speed of the rolls being controllable by open- and/or closed-loop control. According to the invention, the degree of wrap of the flat plastic product around the respective roll is varied by adjusting the rolls in the chill section into a mutually offset arrangement, hence increasing or minimizing the cooling capacity, the gap width, once specified, being held constant during each adjustment operation by means of an appropriate control system.

  • Publication number: 20100108915
Abstract: An apparatus that forms a source bushing, while comprehending the possible formation of electrically conductive films thereon, is disclosed. Such an apparatus may advantageously be used to isolate an ion source from other components within the ion implanter, as these components may be at different electrical potentials. In one embodiment, the source bushing is constructed from a material having a lower electrical resistance than is currently used. By constructing the bushing in this manner, the effects of the applied lower resistance films is reduced, as the change in effective resistance is reduced. In other embodiments, the source bushing is purposely lined with an electrically semiconducting material, so that the effects of the later applied lining are minimized. In either case, the electrical potential between the two devices that are being isolated by the bushing is more evenly applied across the bushing.

  • Publication number: 20090154861
Abstract: A pivot bearing having a first bearing surface of hollow cylindrical design, at least in sections. Guided in the first bearing surface is a second bearing surface of hollow cylindrical design, at least in sections. Rolling bodies are arranged between the bearing surfaces. The pivot bearing also has a cage for guiding the rolling bodies, and a slide block to prevent the cage from slipping. A first grove is formed in the first bearing surface and a second grove is formed in the second bearing surface. The groves are inclined transversely with respect to the running direction of the rolling bodies. the opposite inclination of the groves has the result that, if the spacing between bearing surfaces is neglected, the grooves intersect. The sliding block is guided between the grooves. The cage has a recess that holds the sliding block permitting cage control.

  • Publication number: 20090126561
Abstract: A swash plate pivot bearing is provided having roller bearing segments (15) arranged between a hollow cylindrical bearing surface (12) for a swash plate (10) in a housing (3) and a cylindrical bearing surface (11) on the swash plate (10), held in curved cages (17) whereby elements are provided for controlling the cages which prevent the cage (17) accommodating the roller body (16) from slipping out from the optimum position thereof in the pivot bearing. The cage control elements are integrated into the roller bearing segments (15) so that at least one roller body (23, 23.1, 23.2) of cylindrical form has a positive engagement with the hollow cylindrical bearing surface (12) and the cylindrical bearing surface (11). It is thus possible to prevent the escape of roller bearing segments (15) from the bearing gap (22) due to the effects of vibration.
