  • Patent number: 8534338
Abstract: A fiber placement system including positioner and a fiber delivery apparatus having a creel assembly and a fiber placement head is provided. The positioner moves the entire fiber delivery apparatus including the creel assembly and the fiber placement head via at least three linear degrees of freedom. The fiber delivery apparatus includes an articulating wrist for moving the fiber placement head relative to the creel assembly. The fiber placement apparatus is substantially free of linear degrees of freedom within the fiber tow paths between the spools and the fiber placement head. One or more rotational degrees of freedom may be provided along the tow path. In one embodiment, the interface between the fiber delivery apparatus and the positioner is laterally offset such that a portion of the creel axially overlaps with vertical ram of the positioner.

  • Publication number: 20130212285
Abstract: A mechanism for improving a reliability of a virtual network and resources used. At a virtual network operator level, a request for providing resources for the virtual network is sent towards an infrastructure provider level. The request includes an indication regarding a required availability and reliability level which is to be achieved by the resources of the virtual network. At an infrastructure provider level the request is processed in order to determine the required availability and reliability level, and it is checked whether the required availability and reliability level is achievable for the resources to be provided for the virtual network. A result (confirmation or denial) of the check is sent back to the virtual network operator level.

  • Publication number: 20120269341
Abstract: A method for operating a tachograph having an application controller and a safety controller. A memory is associated with the application controller and a further memory is associated with the safety controller. An encrypted program code having at least one associated signature is made available to the safety controller. The encrypted program code is decrypted by means of the security controller and verified by the at least one signature. It is detected whether the decrypted program code (EPC) is intended for the application controller and/or for the security controller. Depending on what is detected, the program in the memory and/or the further program in the further memory is at least partially replaced by the decrypted program code and, depending on a result of the verification, the at least partially replaced program and/or the at least partially replaced further program is released for executing.

  • Publication number: 20110099314
Abstract: A trip recorder, a memory card or a cleaning card being passed by a reading device by an electric motor drive. The trip recorder attempts to establish communication with the inserted card. If no communication can be established, the reader device or the memory card is dirty, or the cleaning card is inserted in the trip recorder. In case of a failed attempt at communication, the electric motor drive moves the inserted card past the reader device repeatedly removing potential contamination.

  • Patent number: 7830685
Abstract: A power supply power supply (30) comprising a DC voltage supply, a control unit and a plurality of high voltage channels (33a-33d) is suggested. Each high voltage channel (33) includes an inverter (IKTV), a resonance circuit, a transformer (TR), and a rectifier (RECT). The resonance circuit cooperates with the inverter (INV). The inverter (INV) is formed by a first switching unit and a second switching unit whereby a voltage of a first polarity can be applied to the resonance circuit in a first switching state, whereas a voltage of a second polarity can be applied to the resonance circuit in a second switching state. The switching states can be switched by the control unit in such a manner that in a first mode of an operation for high output power, the output power can be adjusted by changing the switching frequency in the range of the resonance frequency.

  • Patent number: 7810539
Abstract: Tools for compacting composite parts are disclosed. These tools are used while layers of composite material, such as tows or laminae, are being deposited onto a fabricating surface, such as a mold or other forming tool. The compacting tool is typically divided into a series of narrow segments, each segment able to advance or retreat individually so as to conform to the surface of a composite part being formed. Pressurized fluid, such as air or hydraulic fluid, or non-pressurized internal bladders with incompressible fluid, are used to evenly apply pressure to the segments in order to compact the material with which the tool and the segments are in contact. The compacting tool thus helps eliminate voids and helps the material conform to the desired shape on the forming tool.

  • Publication number: 20100220718
Abstract: A method for detecting calls is disclosed. A call request initiated by a calling terminal device is received by an access unit of a called terminal device of a data packet transmission network. An invite message is sent from the access unit to the called terminal device. A 200-OK message from the called terminal device is received by the access device. In the event of a detection request, a detection message is received by the access unit in order to initiate a detection of the calling terminal device. Additionally, a telephone terminal device includes a controller, which responds with a 200-OK to an invite message, the terminal device sends a detection message to the access unit in order to initiate a detection of a calling terminal device. An access unit which automatically stores an identifier of a calling terminal device is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100200168
Abstract: A fiber delivery apparatus having a creel assembly and a fiber placement head is provided. A plurality of fiber spools are stored in the creel assembly. The tow paths from the spools to the fiber placement head are substantially fixed such that movements orienting the fiber placement head relative to a tool are simultaneously applied to the fiber spools as well. As such, the length and orientation of the tow paths between the spools and the fiber placement head are constant.

  • Patent number: 7742460
Abstract: Disclosed is a method in which a detection request, by means of which an identifier of a calling terminal is to be detected, is addressed to a signaling unit by a called terminal. The called terminal is connected to a data packet transmission network. The signaling unit signals according to a signaling protocol that has been defined for the transmission of data in a data packet transmission network. The detection request is transmitted along with a message and/or an information element which has been established for signaling in the data packet transmission network.
