  • Patent number: 5070468
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plant fault diagnosing system for diagnosing the operating conditions of the plant, for example, change in the physical quantity or whether any fault is present in each of the instrumentations or not. This system makes reference and makes directly comparison the process data of the plant or a diagnosing pattern processed by treating the process data in a predetermined process with a predetermined information for detecting showing the symptom of an abnormality or a predetermined reference value. When any deviation from a predetermined allowable range or coincidence of the patterns is detected, it determines that there is any abnormality in the plant, and issues an alarm to, for example, an operator.

  • Patent number: 5049267
Abstract: A filter arrangement disposed in a fuel tank of an automotive vehicle has a flat upper section made of mesh. A lower section made of mesh is joined to the upper section to define a space between the upper and lower sections. The space is filled with fuel filtered by the upper and lower sections and communicates with a fuel pump. The upper and lower sections are different in shape and therefore deform differently under suction due to operation of the fuel pump. This prevents the filter arrangement from collapsing under suction, thereby effectively ensuring a fuel flow passage leading to the fuel pump.

  • Patent number: 5016186
Abstract: A method and apparatus detect a noise disappearance of instruments, etc. in various instrumentations in a chemical plant or the like. Detection values which are outputs from a detector (1) are input into a data store (3) via a data collector (2). Inputs to a processor (4) are a detection value (Sold) at a previous point and time from the data storer (3) and further a current detection value serving as a newest value (Snew) from the data collector (2). In the processor (4), an absolute difference between the newest value (Snew) and the previous value (Sold) is calculated. When this difference is smaller than a preset value, a count number (C) of a counter (5) is incremented, whereas when this difference is larger than the preset value, the count number (C) is cleared. When the count number from the counter (5) exceeds a predetermined threshold value, this is regarded the occurrence of a noise disappearance, and a trigger signal (T) for actuating a notifier (7) is output from a limiter (6).

  • Patent number: 4985333
Abstract: The positive-working photosensitive composition useful as a material of photoresist comprises, in addition to a film-forming resin, such as a cresol novolak resin, and a photosensitive compound, such as an ester of a polyhydroxy benzophenone and 1,2-naphthoquinonediazido-5-sulfonic acid, an esterification product of curcumin with 1,2-naphthoquinone diazide sulfonic acid in a limited amount. The photosensitive composition is outstandingly insusceptible to the adverse influence of halation even when the photoresist layer is formed on a highly reflective aluminum-deposited surface of a substrate without decreasing the photosensitivity of the composition to actinic rays in the photolithographic process for the manufacture of semiconductor devices.

  • Patent number: 4347780
Abstract: An operating valve assembly for a power steering unit comprises inner and outer sleeves in sliding contact with each other and relatively rotatable in response to the twisting of a torsion bar corresponding to a steering load. The outer sleeve is formed in its inner circumferential surface with a plurality of recesses circumferentially spaced apart and having circular opening edges, which recesses are alternately connected to a pump and a drain chamber. The inner sleeve is formed in its outer circumferential surface with grooves establishing communication between adjacent ones of the aforesaid recesses. The outer sleeve is formed with apertures opening into the respective grooves, with the apertures being alternately connected to one or the other of the power cylinder chambers. The operating valve assembly is inexpensive and easy to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 4296719
Abstract: A multiple cylinder engine having an intake passage for each cylinder. A shut-off valve or valves are provided in the intake passage or passages leading to selected one or ones of cylinders downstream of the throttle valve. The shut-off valve is closed in idling operation so that the combustible mixture is totally supplied to the remainder of the cylinders to increase the mixture charge therein. The intake passage or passages leading to the selected cylinder or cylinders are supplied with air when the shut-off valves are closed so that the peak pressure in such cylinders is increased. The air supply is cut-off in deceleration in order for preventing the engine-brake effect from being weakened.
