  • Patent number: 8553969
Abstract: Systems and methods for counting and processing pliable objects are disclosed. A vision system may capture an inspection image of a plurality of pliable objects. The inspection image may be partitioned into a plurality of windows traversing the inspection image. For each individual window of the plurality of windows, a blob extraction process is performed to determine a plurality of blobs corresponding to regions within the inspection image having substantially the second luminance value range such that the plurality of blobs correspond to the plurality of pliable objects. The blobs are counted for each window to determine a total number of pliable objects in the plurality of pliable objects.

  • Publication number: 20130258316
Abstract: A lithographic apparatus has an alignment system including a radiation source configured to convert narrow-band radiation into continuous, flat and broad-band radiation. An acoustically tunable narrow pass-band filter filters the broad-band radiation into narrow-band linearly polarized radiation. The narrow-band radiation may be focused on alignment targets of a wafer so as to enable alignment of the wafer. In an embodiment, the filter is configured to modulate an intensity and wavelength of radiation produced by the radiation source and to have multiple simultaneous pass-bands. The radiation source generates radiation that has high spatial coherence and low temporal coherence.

  • Publication number: 20130262174
Abstract: A system and method for store level labor demand forecasting for large retail chain stores are disclosed. In one embodiment, a chain store level labor budget in labor hours for a future point-in-time is determined. Further, backend labor hours are obtained for each store using a backend regression equation that is based on forecasted independent variables. Furthermore, frontend labor hours are obtained for each store using a frontend regression equation that is based on customer service driven factors and using a what if scenario model to select best case values of the customer service driven factors. In addition, needed store level labor hours are obtained for each store by aggregating the obtained backend and frontend labor hours. Moreover, store peer groups are formed and a performance rank of each store within each store peer group is obtained. Also, allocated chain store level labor hours to each store are optimized.

  • Patent number: 8548231
Abstract: First order predicate logics are provided, extended with a bilattice based uncertainty handling formalism, as a means of formally encoding pattern grammars, to parse a set of image features, and detect the presence of different patterns of interest implemented on a processor. Information from different sources and uncertainties from detections, are integrated within the bilattice framework. Automated logical rule weight learning in the computer vision domain applies a rule weight optimization method which casts the instantiated inference tree as a knowledge-based neural network, to converge upon a set of rule weights that give optimal performance within the bilattice framework. Applications are in (a) detecting the presence of humans under partial occlusions and (b) detecting large complex man made structures in satellite imagery (c) detection of spatio-temporal human and vehicular activities in video and (c) parsing of Graphical User Interfaces.

  • Patent number: 8549490
Abstract: A method for static code analyzing customizations to a pre-packaged computing solution can include establishing a communicative connection from a recommendation generation module to a pre-packaged computing solution and authenticating into the pre-packaged computing solution. Customized program code can be extracted from the pre-packaged computing solution and a call graph of the customized program code can be constructed such that the call graph indicates method calls to different interfaces for program code of the pre-packaged computing solution. Finally, a report can be generated identifying customized program code to be adapted to a new version of the pre-packaged computing solution based upon changes in the different interfaces shown by the call graph to be used in the new version of the pre-packaged computing solution and modifications required for the customized program code to call the different interfaces in the new version of the pre-packaged computing solution.
