Patent number: 11703569Abstract: Methods and systems for performing three dimensional LIDAR measurements with an integrated LIDAR measurement device are described herein. In one aspect, a return signal receiver generates a pulse trigger signal that triggers the generation of a pulse of illumination light and data acquisition of a return signal, and also triggers the time of flight calculation by time to digital conversion. In addition, the return signal receiver also estimates the width and peak amplitude of each return pulse, and samples each return pulse waveform individually over a sampling window that includes the peak amplitude of each return pulse waveform. In a further aspect, the time of flight associated with each return pulse is estimated based on a coarse timing estimate and a fine timing estimate. In another aspect, the time of flight is measured from the measured pulse due to internal optical crosstalk and a valid return pulse.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2020Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: VELODYNE LIDAR USA, INC.Inventors: David S. Patent number: 11704289Abstract: Provided are techniques for role reversal of primary and secondary sites with minimal replication delay. During a backup phase, an Input/Output (I/O) operation selected from a group comprising a create operation and a rename operation is received with one or more local attributes of a local file. The I/O operation is processed to generate one or more remote attributes. The one or more local attributes are stored with the one or more remote attributes. During a reversed phase, a write operation for the remote file is processed, and, the write operation is sent to the primary replication system with the one or more local attributes, where the primary replication system uses a local file handle in the one or more local attributes to access the local file for processing the write operation to sync the local file with the remote file.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2021Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Venkateswara Rao Puvvada, Karrthik Kalaga Gopalakrishnan, Ashish Pandey, Saket Kumar

Patent number: 11706314Abstract: A coordinated network service that facilitates the design and implementation of a coordinated device network of IoT devices. The coordinated network service defines modules for individual IoT devices or coordinated devices that specify the necessary inputs to the device, the outputs from the device and communication protocols. Via an interface, user devices can select a set of IoT devices and specify how they are connected and the decision making logic associated with communication flow. The coordinated network service can then automatically generate mapping information that implements the decision making logic and provides necessary transformations for communications between the specified devices. The selected modules and mappings form a workflow for the coordinated device network. The coordinated network service can then generate executable code to implement the formed workflow in a coordinated device network.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2018Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Kawarjit Bedi, Sravan Kumar Nandamuri, Piyush Gupta, Atulya Beheray, James Gosling

Patent number: 11706162Abstract: A first forwarding VM may execute in a first availability zone and have a first IP address. Similarly, a second forwarding VM may execute in a second availability zone and have a second IP address. The first and second IP addresses may be recorded with a cloud DNS web service of a cloud provider such that both receive requests from applications directed to a particular DNS name acting as a single endpoint. A service cluster may include a master VM node and a standby VM node. An IPtable in each forwarding VM may forward a request having a port value to a cluster port value associated with the master VM node. Upon a failure of the master VM node, the current standby VM node may be promoted to execute in master mode and the IPtables may be updated to now forward requests having the port value to a cluster port value associated with the newly promoted master VM node (which was previously the standby VM node).Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2019Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Dinesh Kumar, Vinayak Jadhav, Shashank Mohan Jain
