  • Patent number: 6203381
Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulator defining an interior space for receiving therein a pin module formed by embedding conductive pins on an insert. Retention members are provided in the interior space between the insulator and the pin module including a first bound to limit the movement of the pin module in a first direction and a second bound to limit the movement of the pin module in an opposite second direction thereby effectively retaining the pin module in the insulator. The modularization of the pins received in the insulator allows the pins to be assembled into the insulator much more efficiently while the retention members effectively prevent the pin module from separating from the insulator.
