  • Publication number: 20150192505
Abstract: It has been difficult to conduct high-sensitivity, high-precision measurement due to externally generated contamination or cross-contamination. Thus, the invention includes (1) a filter unit having a filter at a bottom of a container for holding a liquid, the filter being adapted to filter a liquid, and (2) an attachment cover having a first opening and a second opening, the filter unit being attachable to and detachable from the attachment cover via the first opening, and the attachment cover being adapted to, when the filter unit is attached to the attachment cover, allow filtration by the filter in a state in which an inner face of the attachment cover is tightly in contact with an outer face of the filter unit, and discharge a resulting filtrate through the second opening.

  • Publication number: 20150068627
Abstract: An actuator device includes a pin that performs translatory motion along a groove of a cam to which a three-way stopcock is connected, the cam that performs rotary motion, and a control unit that causes the pin to perform the translatory motion along an extending direction of the cam, and rotates the cam with respect to a central axis of rotation, thereby to divert a passage of the three-way stopcock. A first, second, third, and fourth grooves that form the groove have a linked shape. Directions of inclinations of the first inclination angle and the third inclination angle are opposite with respect to the central axis, and directions of inclinations of the second inclination angle and the fourth inclination angle are opposite with respect to the central axis.

  • Patent number: 8675187
Abstract: In an analysis system for detecting amounts of components contained in samples, many samples can be measured simultaneously in the whole of the system by use of compact inexpensive photometers. An LED with low heat generation and a long life span is used as a light source. Compactness is achieved by bended optical axis instead of a straight one. Components for bending an optical axis and components for condensing light to ensure an amount of light are in common use to reduce the number of components. Compactness, reduction of the number of components, and integration achieve easy optical axis alignment and precise measurement.

  • Publication number: 20120156766
Abstract: Temperature of a sensor chip itself rises with the supply of power owing to temperature dependence of the sensor chip as its basic characteristics. When a chemiluminescence reagent is added at the point of time at which the temperature rise reaches a steady state and a sensor chip photodiode dark current becomes constant, a drastic shift occurs in the sensor chip temperature. Remarkable dispersion occurs at this time in the sensor chip photodiode dark current Variance (unstability) of the sensor chip photodiode dark current can be decreased by reducing the temperature fluctuation of the sensor chip to minimum by using an exothermal effect of a thermal diffusion medium.

  • Patent number: 8128798
Abstract: A liquid transfer device electrically controls liquid position. The surface of the liquid transfer device is provided with unevenness in order to solve a problem of having a large number of electrodes for controlling voltage. The number of electrodes for controlling voltage can be halved by the utilization of a restoring force of the liquid to a spherical shape by surface tension, in addition to an electrical force.

  • Publication number: 20110110822
Abstract: Using an LED element as a light source, a photometric unit including the light source, a light receiving element and other components therebetween is reduced in size. A holder 30 detachable from the device as a unit holds a light emission unit 15 formed of an LED and a light receiving element 21, and the holder is placed inside a thermostatic chamber 18 which holds a constant temperature fluid 17. Thus, the photometric unit is reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 7922885
Abstract: In a device for transporting liquid, liquid to be transported is enclosed by an oil droplet, which is fractionated with air, for manipulation. Moreover, as a method for supplying liquids wherein a plurality of liquids are enclosed by an oil droplet sequentially and treated, liquid enclosed by an oil droplet is formed by associating one oil with one liquid in a liquid introducing section. According to the present invention, even in the case where a plurality of liquids are manipulated, it is possible to manipulate stably without affecting other liquids. Moreover, it is possible to treat as a liquid enclosed by an oil droplet successively in the device for transporting liquid, thereby allowing the invention to be applied to a system for analyzing easily.

  • Patent number: 7767147
Abstract: Conventional liquid transport substrates having a fluid channel formed along an array of electrodes have a problem in which throughput decreases, depending on driving conditions. In order to avoid two-way passage in a fluid channel from the inlet to a measuring section and a fluid channel from the measuring section to the outlet, the measuring section is located in the middle of the fluid channel connecting the inlet and the outlet, so that manipulation from the inlet to the outlet takes place in one direction on the substrate. Even when analyzing a large number of sample droplets, by transport of the droplets substantially in one direction, it is possible to complete measurement in a short time.
