Abstract: An approach is provided that selects an original entity from an original knowledge graph. The approach then accesses a data source that is external to the original knowledge graph, such as an online encyclopedia. An entity in the data source is identified based on the entity matching the original entity. A new relation is then identified in the data source between the identified entity and a new entity with the new entity being absent from the original knowledge graph. An expanded knowledge graph is then generated with the expanded knowledge graph formed by adding the new entity to the original knowledge graph.

Abstract: An approach is provided that receives a question at a question-answering (QA) system. A number of passages are identified that are relevant to the received question. A question knowledge graph is generated that corresponds to the question and a set of passage knowledge graphs are also generated with each passage knowledge graph corresponding to one of the identified passages. Each of the passage knowledge graphs are compared to the question knowledge graph with the comparison resulting in a set of knowledge graph candidate answers (kgCAs). A set of candidate answers (CAs) is computed by the QA with at least one of the CAs being based on one of the kgCAs.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically measuring and storing a various measured values of an item, or a sequence of measured values of one or more item(s) suitable for single-handed use by a user. In particular, the present invention relates to a mobile computing device with one or more sensors for determining when to measure and record a particular value of one or more items. The mobile computing device may automatically measure the values based on sensing a change in the temperature value or through using proximity as detected by one or more onboard sensors. Additionally, the mobile computing device may automatically measure the values based on coming within range of an external proximity device. In response to automatically measuring the values, the measured values are stored along with additional information for record keeping purposes.

The display panel includes an opposite substrate and a display substrate opposite each other, a sealant is disposed between the opposite substrate and the display substrate, and the display substrate may be divided into a display area and a peripheral area around the display area. The display substrate includes a first base substrate; a first resin pattern on the first base substrate in the display area; and a protection layer in the display area and the peripheral area and between the first resin pattern and the first base substrate. The sealant is in the peripheral area and in contact with a portion of the protection layer in the peripheral area.

Abstract: A method, implementable by a data processing server comprising a trusted execution environment, includes: obtaining a ciphertext of target data from an external system; obtaining one or more parameters of a model for processing the target data; obtaining, via a data transmission channel between the trusted execution environment and the external system, an encryption key associated with the ciphertext of the target data; inputting the ciphertext of the target data and the one or more parameters of the model to the trusted execution environment; decrypting, in the trusted execution environment, the ciphertext using the encryption key to obtain the target data; processing, in the trusted execution environment, the obtained target data using the model with the one or more parameters to obtain a result; encrypting, in the trusted execution environment, the result using the encryption key; and sending the encrypted result to the external system.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for remotely adjusting performance and power parameters of a computing device are disclosed. A computing system includes a first computing device connected to a second (remote) computing device. The user uses the second computing device to monitor and adjust parameters, such as a fan speed for a GPU on a video graphics card in the first computing device, while the first computing device executes a parallel data application such as a video game. Additionally, the user uses the second computing device to manage video recorder operations. By using the second computing device to send commands to a graphics driver and a video recorder application, the first computing device's display monitor does not display a user interface during execution of the video game. No video rendering is performed by the video graphics card of the first computing device to generate and control the user interface.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a solution is used to provide for a highly efficient image dispatch system for container-based in-memory databases in a database-as-a-service framework that provides storage and bandwidth cost savings and introduces advanced features of container techniques. This solution makes best use of the advantages of the concurrent and distributed capabilities of in-memory databases in a database-as-a-service framework. A container operator manager provides operators for various uses, such as the “diff” operator and the “merge” operator. A dispatch manager acts as a centralized service for diff content maintenance, patch publication and management of dispatch worker nodes. A patch worker on each node has the capabilities to execute the specified patching and validation between the images located on each side of the in-memory database in the database-as-a-service framework.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a solution is used to provide for multiple and concurrent web application accessing of a database in a database-as-a-service (DBaaS) framework. More particularly, a cloud solution is provided on a DBaaS for leveraging Docker network functionality to provide a virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address pool, while utilizing in-memory database technology to set up an entire accessing solution for multiple and concurrent DBaaS users and web applications, which serve the data-intensive jobs to the in-memory database. This allows for improved functionality, performance, concurrency, and handling of network stress.

Abstract: A display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The method includes: forming a flexible substrate on a display area and a welding area of a glass substrate; sequentially forming a switch array layer and an organic light-emitting display layer on the flexible substrate and an edge area of the glass substrate; patterning the switch array layer, such that a switching element and a metal wire are respectively formed on the display area and the welding area, and a portion of the switch array layer and the organic light-emitting display layer on the edge area are removed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a framework for providing microservices for database with embedded container service in a container cloud platform. The framework includes a container cloud manager for performing distributed management of resources in a data center. The container cloud manager includes an orchestrator with a flexible job scheduler and operator pool. The flexible job scheduler and container cloud master form a flexible job management platform for managing jobs of the data center. The flexible job management framework can isolate various types of jobs as well as mix various jobs for efficient usage of hosts or resources in the data center. The operator pool includes optional components of a database. The orchestrator facilitates quick customization and release of database products, such as a HANA database with optional services, as requested by a user in the container cloud platform.
