Another operation can be resampling the statistical values of the fMRI image to improve the statistical strength for target voxels in the fMRI by identifying strong statistical values in neighboring voxels in a defined neighborhood of the target voxels and improving statistical values of the target voxels using the strong statistical values. The statistics of the fMRI image can integrated into a region of interest identified for the human organ to improve data values of the target voxels while retaining regional boundaries.

    Abstract: Technologies are described which permit kernel updates or firmware fixes, and include re-initialization of kernel data structures, without losing user context information that has been created by services, virtual machines, or user applications. Tailored code in a server or other computing system sets a kernel soft reset (KSR) indicator and saves the user context to non-volatile storage. When a KSR is underway, boot code skips the power on self-test and similar initializations (thereby reducing downtime), loads a kernel image, initializes kernel data structures, restores the user context, and passes control to the initialized kernel to continue computing system operation with the same user context. Device drivers may also be re-initialized. The loaded kernel may use newly fixed firmware, or may have a security patch installed, for instance. The non-volatile storage may operate at RAM speed, e.g., it may include NVDIMM memory. The kernel may be validated before receiving control.

The capacitive sensors detect changes in capacitance brought on by a finger of a user coming in proximity with the capacitive sensor. Upon detection of a stored capacitive activation sequence, the processor initiates activation of the corresponding response which may be playback of an audio file. For example, when an electronic system is first powered on, a low current voltage source may be used to supply power to a primary voltage island. As a higher current voltage source becomes available, power derived from the higher current voltage source may be provided to the primary voltage island and to secondary voltage islands. Power to each of the secondary voltage islands may be, for example, individually controlled via a power MOS transistor. The power MOS transistor may also be configured to allow a faster blocking time than unblocking time.
