The system comprises an input interface (IN) for receiving a specification of a path extending at least partly into an object. A camera sampler (CS) configured to compute, for a plurality of non-ionizing radiation based cameras (OC) of the X-ray imaging apparatus (IM), a respective imaging geometry for achieving a plan view on the object along said path.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for enhanced hydrocarbon recovery in an underground reservoir rock comprising injecting an aqueous conditioning solution containing an alkaline agent, wherein the in-situ effects of the injection are determined by means of a flow simulation on a reservoir model discretized in cells, by taking into account the transport of the alkaline agent and without taking into account the transport of species referred to as intermediate species that result from the injection of the principal agent in aqueous solution, the intermediate species concentrations being determined analytically in each cell.

Abstract: Technology is described for incorporating statistical strength from neighboring voxels in an fMRI image. The method can include the operation of capturing an fMRI image of a human organ and the fMRI image includes statistical values for voxels in order to detect changes associated with blood flow representing organ activity. The statistics of the fMRI image can be upsampled to a larger coordinate size. Another operation can be resampling the statistical values of the fMRI image to improve the statistical strength for target voxels in the fMRI by identifying strong statistical values in neighboring voxels in a defined neighborhood of the target voxels and improving statistical values of the target voxels using the strong statistical values. The statistics of the fMRI image can integrated into a region of interest identified for the human organ to improve data values of the target voxels while retaining regional boundaries.

Abstract: Technologies are described which permit kernel updates or firmware fixes, and include re-initialization of kernel data structures, without losing user context information that has been created by services, virtual machines, or user applications. Tailored code in a server or other computing system sets a kernel soft reset (KSR) indicator and saves the user context to non-volatile storage. When a KSR is underway, boot code skips the power on self-test and similar initializations (thereby reducing downtime), loads a kernel image, initializes kernel data structures, restores the user context, and passes control to the initialized kernel to continue computing system operation with the same user context. Device drivers may also be re-initialized. The loaded kernel may use newly fixed firmware, or may have a security patch installed, for instance. The non-volatile storage may operate at RAM speed, e.g., it may include NVDIMM memory. The kernel may be validated before receiving control.

Abstract: A capacitive gesture recognition book includes a plurality of capacitive sensors concealed in a base cover of the book. The capacitive sensors detect changes in capacitance brought on by a finger of a user coming in proximity with the capacitive sensor. A processor located in the base cover includes a plurality of capacitive activation sequences and a plurality of corresponding responses stored therein. Upon detection of a stored capacitive activation sequence, the processor initiates activation of the corresponding response which may be playback of an audio file. The book includes a plurality of pages that contain graphics and/or words for a storyline. The graphics can include images intended to direct a user of a desired motion to be made that corresponds with activation of sensors in a manner stored as a capacitive activation sequence.

Abstract: Methods and systems for supplying power to multiple voltage islands using a single supply source are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include providing power to a first of a plurality of voltage islands, and individually controlling providing of power to each of a remaining portion of the plurality of voltage islands. For example, when an electronic system is first powered on, a low current voltage source may be used to supply power to a primary voltage island. As a higher current voltage source becomes available, power derived from the higher current voltage source may be provided to the primary voltage island and to secondary voltage islands. Power to each of the secondary voltage islands may be, for example, individually controlled via a power MOS transistor. The power MOS transistor may also be configured to allow a faster blocking time than unblocking time.

The system includes a first network at a medical facility having a first server and a medical database and a second network having a consent management database and a web server, the consent management database including a list of patients matched to a user list. A website on the web server enables users to input a request for medical information on patients. The web server is configured to forward the request for medical information to the first server. The first server is configured to extract medical information from the medical database about the patient identified in the request for medical information and forward same to the identified user's contact address upon receipt of the request for medical information.
