  • Patent number: 9509662
Abstract: A service is provided that supports a plurality of tenants. Server(s) of the service are communicatively coupled with a plurality of gateways of the service. Each gateway is configured to support at least one tenant. The server(s) of the service include a network interface, a tenant mapper, and a gateway interface. The network interface is configured to receive connection strings from client devices. Each received connection string includes a service portion that maps to the same public IP address of the service, and also includes a corresponding tenant portion that identifies a tenant. The tenant mapper maps the tenant portions of the connection strings to corresponding gateways. The gateway interface is configured to enable the gateways to establish tunnels between the corresponding client devices and identified tenants. Accordingly, clients are enabled to access multiple tenants of the service via a same public IP address.

  • Patent number: 9510271
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for address format detection are described herein. In one aspect, a method of detecting whether an addressing format is supported by an access point on a wireless network is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a request to an access point using an addressing format including a source address field and a separate transmitter address field. In some aspects, the request may be an address resolution protocol (ARP) request or an Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) ping request. The request includes the source address field set to a first address and the transmitter address field set to a second address; monitoring transmissions of the access point to determine whether the access point transmits a response to the request that includes a destination address equal to the first address; and determining whether the access point supports the addressing format based on the monitoring.

  • Patent number: 9501506
Abstract: A hybrid-sharded index includes document-sharded posting lists and term-sharded posting lists. Implementations include systems and methods for updating a hybrid-sharded index. For example, a method may include receiving updates to the hybrid-sharded index and generating, at a first leaf node, replacement posting lists and change information for a respective second leaf node. The method may also include dividing the replacement posting lists into portions, a portion having associated change information and being associated with a respective one of the second leaf nodes and sending the portions to respective leaf nodes. At a particular leaf node of the second leaf nodes, the method includes merging a received portion into an updated posing list portion, swapping the updated posting list portion into memory. During the swap, the change information and the updated posting list portion are used to respond to a query with an older version of the hybrid-sharded index.

  • Publication number: 20160338133
Abstract: A UE may receive, via a first communication link that uses a first radio access technology (RAT), information that identifies a threshold associated with a second communication link that uses a second RAT. The UE may monitor one or more communications on the second communication link. The UE may determine whether a parameter associated with the second communication link satisfies the threshold based at least in part on monitoring the one or more communications on the second communication link. The UE may provide a message via the first communication link when the parameter associated with the second communication link satisfies the threshold.

  • Patent number: 9495258
Abstract: Techniques are described for dynamically generating a disaster recovery plan. In an embodiment, a set of topology metadata is determined for a first site on which a multi-tier application is deployed and a second site where the multi-tier application will be activated in the event of switchover/failover. The topology metadata may include metadata that identifies a set of targets associated with a plurality of tiers on the first site on which the multi-tier application is deployed and also on the second site where the multi-tier application would be activated in the event of disaster recovery operation like switchover or failover. Based, at least in part, on the topology metadata for the first site and second site, a disaster recovery plan is generated. The disaster recovery plan includes an ordered set of instructions for deactivating the multi-tier application at the first site and activating the multi-tier application at a second site.

  • Patent number: 9495431
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for multi-instance redo apply is provided for standby databases. A multi-instance primary database generates a plurality of redo records, which are received and applied by a physical standby running a multi-instance standby database. Each standby instance runs a set of processes that utilize non-blocking, single-task threads for high parallelism. At each standby instance for the multi-instance redo, the plurality of redo records are merged into a stream from one or more redo strands in logical time order, distributed to standby instances according to determined apply slave processes using an intelligent workload distribution function, reemerged after receiving updates from remote instances, and applied in logical time order by the apply slave processes. Redo apply progress is tracked at each instance locally and also globally, allowing a consistent query logical time to be maintained and published to service database read query requests concurrently with the redo apply.
