  • Patent number: 5270951
Abstract: A method of storing in a memory having a predetermined number of storage spaces signals representative of deviations in the tension continuously monitored in a plurality of strands of yarn running in a textile machine. The signals from the individual strands are sequentially fed into a memory and are initially stored in the available spaces. Once the memory is filled, the highest number of earlier stored signals is reduced by later signals being written over them.

  • Patent number: 5259642
Abstract: The application relates to a mount of a front seat passenger airbag unit in the upper area of a dashboard of a motor vehicle. The mount uses a holder which consists of flat material and on the one hand can be attached to the housing of the airbag unit and on the other hand can be attached securely to the vehicle. In order to ensure a certain degree of resilience of the airbag unit during the unfolding of the bag, the holder, which is made of a flat material, is guided along below the floor area of the housing and is connected there to the latter. The holder projects beyond the housing, on both sides and is attachable securely to the vehicle at a spacing from said housing in such a way that between the lateral ends of the housing and the mounting points of the holder fixed to the vehicle at a distance from the housing. The holder forms a deformable bridge area which serves to absorb energy and during loading permits the holder to rotate in both directions about its longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 5135255
Abstract: A receptacle arrangement for an air bag which protects a vehicle occupant from an impact onto parts of the vehicle interior, has a covering which is fixed to a base plate and covers an air bag container. The covering folds out along a hinge axis of a hinge in the edge region of the air bag container during the unfolding of the air bag, after which it exposes a container aperture for the passage of the bag fabric into an inflated position in front of the vehicle occupant. The covering has, in addition to the first hinge, two further hinges which bound the first hinge on both sides, are approximately perpendicular thereto and have a clearance from the lateral edges of the covering. Thereby, two lateral covering flaps are formed which subdivide the swivellable covering.

  • Patent number: 5131681
Abstract: A restraining system for knee protection in a motor vehicle having a safety belt system includes an element which deforms plastically upon impact of a vehicle occupant's knees. The element can be transferred by means of a servo drive from a comfortable remote-from-the-knee position into a securable, restraining close-to-the-knee position. The restraining system permits the largest degree of freedom of movement for the vehicle occupant given specific peripheral conditions or prevents the vehicle occupants slipping away towards the foot space of the vehicle. The signal for transferring the knee protection into its close-to-the-knee position in the driving mode occurs by a device triggered in the event of the non-use of a three-point safety belt system.

  • Patent number: 5125682
Abstract: An impact protection device for an occupant of a motor vehicle having an air bag. The air bag is arranged folded up in a receptacle fixed to the vehicle and can be inflated by a filler gas. An air bag surface facing a vehicle occupant being limited in its movement towards the vehicle occupant in the center region by a restraining device. The restraining device is formed by a cover plate over the receptacle which is connected to the vehicle by short limiting straps, so that on unfolding the air bag extends around the periphery and in the direction of the vehicle occupant in front of the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 5054694
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to apparatus for crushing material for grinding, in which the material for grinding first of all passes in multiple circulation through a grinding stage which operates on the pressure crushing principle and then without further grinding is delivered to a classification stage consisting of two classification assemblies set to different degrees of fineness, the streams of fines from the two classification assemblies being mixed together. By the combination of these two measures a desired flattening of the particle size distribution of the end product is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5048863
Abstract: An anti-collision cushion is disclosed for the occupants of a motor vehicle. Known anti-collision cushions are constructed with a central part which is connected to two side parts of equal size. A tearing fold which reduces the volume capacity, and which is formed by a rip seam, is provided on the surface of the central part. In the deployment phase an expansion occurs with high velocities in the region of the side parts, which may result in injuries to the occupant in some circumstances. In the novel anti-collision cushion the rip seams connect the connecting seams which are contiguous in the region of the tearing fold between the central part and the side parts. A reduction of the expansion and of the expansion velocity, particularly in the region of the side parts, is thereby achieved.
