Abstract: A quickly releasable vest capable of protecting a torso portion of a user is disclosed. The quickly releasable vest includes a first torso panel, a second torso panel, a plurality of plug members, a plurality of socket members and a quick release mechanism. The plurality of plug members is disposed on the first torso panel. The plurality of socket members is disposed on the second torso panel. Each of the plurality of socket members is configured to detachably couple to one of the plurality of plug members disposed on the first torso panel. The quick release mechanism is disposed on the first torso panel. The quick release mechanism includes a pull cord and a plurality of connecting tapes. The quick release mechanism is configured to separate the first torso panel from the second torso panel.

Abstract: Method and system for equivalence checking of a low power design are disclosed. The method includes receiving a register-transfer level (RTL) netlist representation of a circuit, receiving a power specification file for describing power requirements of the circuit, creating a low power gate netlist for representing a design implementation of the circuit using the RTL netlist and the power specification file, creating a reference low power RTL netlist for representing a design specification of the circuit using the RTL netlist and the power specification file, and performing equivalence checking between the low power gate netlist and the reference low power RTL netlist. The method further includes annotating low power information described in the power specification file into the reference low power RTL netlist, and creating low power logic in the reference low power RTL netlist.

Abstract: A method, system, and program storage device for establishing security and authorization policies for users accessing a software application, wherein the method comprises generating at least one application object group from an application object description document comprising an XML format run on a data processor; creating an authorization policy for each application object; sending a selected application object group to an access controller; and establishing access control parameters at a time of deployment of the software application for users attempting to access the selected application object group based on the authorization policy.

Abstract: The invention provides a printed circuit board (PCB) printing system. In a particular embodiment, the system includes a liquid electrophotographic printing device. At least one supplier of electrically conductive ink supplying electrically conductive ink to the electrophotographic printing device is also provided. In addition, at least one supplier of dielectric ink supplying dielectric ink to the electrophotographic printing device is also provided. The liquid electrophotographic printing device is operable to apply the electrically conductive ink and the dielectric ink to a provided substrate such that substantially immiscible boundary delineation occurs at any points of contact between the applied electrically conducive ink and the applied dielectric ink. An appropriate method of use for the rendering of a printed circuit board is also provided.

Abstract: A method for providing applications to one or more requesting devices is provided. The method comprises a step of first receiving an application request from the one or more requesting devices. The method includes extracting details of the request. Further markup language structure for corresponding page of the application is generated. The markup language structure is generated by invoking page handlers which includes contacting business logic layer to get information required to be embedded in the corresponding page. The output page is then provided to the requesting device.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for managing system resources within a data processing system. A resource management moderator (RMM) utility assigns a priority to each application within a group of management applications, facilitated by a RMM protocol. When a request for control of a particular resource is received, the RMM utility compares the priority of the requesting application with the priority of the controlling application. Control of the resource is ultimately given to the management application with the greater priority. If the resource is not under control of an application, control of the resource may be automatically granted to the requester. Additionally, the RMM utility provides support for legacy applications via a “manager of managers” application. The RMM utility registers the “manager of managers” application with the protocol and enables interactions (to reconfigure and enable legacy applications) between the “manager of managers” application and legacy applications.

Abstract: Various embodiments can utilize information that is displayed for a user to automatically generate a list of keywords and use that list as a means to display supplemental information that is relevant to the keywords. In at least some embodiments, the displayed information is analyzed using an extraction algorithm to identify words or, more generally, character strings of interest. If these words or character strings of interest are determined to constitute relevant search terms or “keywords”, then a special user interface portion can be used to display this supplemental information along with the information that is already displayed for the user. This supplemental information can include the search terms themselves, ads that pertain to the search terms, and/or search results that have been ascertained from a web search engine.

Abstract: In at least some disclosed embodiments, a system includes a Viterbi decoder and predecoding logic coupled to the Viterbi decoder. The predecoding logic decodes encoded data. The system further includes detection logic coupled to the predecoding logic. The detection logic tests decoded data, and the detection logic produces a binary result. The Viterbi decoder is enabled if the binary result is a first value, and the Viterbi decoder is disabled if the binary result is a second value.

Abstract: A receiver system for receiving and decoding modulated communications signals in a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) environment, where the signals are modulated according to Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation (OFDM). The receiver system includes shared decoder logic circuitry that executes a maximum-likelihood (ML) estimation algorithm in deriving the signals transmitted from the multiple transmitting antennae, as those signals were received over all of the receiving antennae. For a control channel portion of the data frame, the shared decoder logic circuitry applies Viterbi decoding to the transmitted datastreams estimated by the ML estimation algorithm. This sharing of decoder logic reduces the integrated circuit chip area, and also power dissipation, otherwise required in performing these complex decoding functions.

Abstract: A system and method to provide a computer implemented endoscopic procedure management system. The system may be configured with functionality to gather data before, during, and after the endoscopic procedure report. In particular, the system may be operable to capture video from endoscopic procedure equipment, provide voice recognition capabilities, and assist in the automatic generation of endoscopic procedure reports. The system may be configured to automatically fill in drug, symptom, patient, and other data in response to user input. The system may limit user access to functionalities of the system based on user roles.

Abstract: A system for restricting spinal flexion includes superior and inferior tether structures joined by a pair of compliance members. Compliance members comprise tension members which apply a relatively low elastic tension on the tether structures. By placing the tether structures on or over adjacent spinous processes, flexion of a spinal segment can be controlled in order to reduce pain.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sorting particles moving through a closed channel system of capillary size comprises a bubble valve for selectively generating a pressure pulse to separate a particle having a predetermined characteristic from a stream of particles. The particle sorting system may further include a buffer for absorbing the pressure pulse. The particle sorting system may include a plurality of closely coupled sorting modules which are combined to further increase the sorting rate. The particle sorting system may comprise a multi-stage sorting device for serially sorting streams of particles, in order to decrease the error rate.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a method of testing humidity, comprising: i) determining a property of a device which encloses a plurality of interferometric modulators and ii) determining a relative humidity value or a degree of the relative humidity inside the device based at least in part upon the determined property, wherein the determined property comprises at least one of i) the thickness and width of a seal of the device and ii) adhesive permeability of a component of the device. In one embodiment, the determined property further comprises at least one of the following: i) temperature-humidity combination inside the device, ii) a desiccant capacity inside the device and iii) a device size.

Abstract: A process for controlling the length of a purge and the purge rate of a fuel cell stack at system shut-down so as to provide the desired amount of stack humidity. The membrane humidification is measured at system shut-down by a high frequency resistance sensor that detects membrane humidification and provides the measurement to a controller. The controller controls the compressor that provides cathode input air to the fuel cell stack so that the time of the purge and the flow rate of the purge provide a desired membrane humidity for the next start-up.

Abstract: Charge balanced display data writing systems, apparatuses, and methods use write and hold cycles of opposite polarity during selected frame update periods. A release cycle may be provided to reduce the chance that a given display element will become stuck in an actuated state.
