  • Publication number: 20090197126
Abstract: A system and method for limiting the output current of a fuel cell stack as the stack degrades overtime. A look-up table identifies a predetermined voltage set-point for stack current density. A first comparator provides a voltage difference signal between the set-point and the stack voltage. The voltage difference signal is provided to a controller, such as a proportional-integral controller, that provides a current limiting signal. The current limiting signal and a current request signal are provided to a second comparator that selects which signal will be used to limit the maximum output current of the stack. A polarization curve estimator estimates parameters of the stack that will change over the life of the stack. The parameters are provided to a gain scheduler that provides gains to the controller that are based on where in the life of the stack it is currently operating.

  • Patent number: 7571284
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing out-of-order memory transactions in a multithreaded, multicore processor. In the present invention, circular queue comprising a plurality of queue buffers is used to store load data returned by a memory unit in response to a request issued by a processing module, such as a stream processing unit, in a processing core. As requests are issued, a destination queue buffer ID tag is transmitted as part of the request. When the request is returned, that destination number is reflected back and is used to control which queue within the circular queue will be used to store the retuned load data. Separate pointers are used to indicate the order of the queues to be read and the order of the queues to be written. The method and apparatus implemented by the present invention allows out-of-order data to be processed efficiently, thereby improving the performance of a fine grain multithreaded, multi-core processor.

  • Patent number: 7567804
Abstract: A method and system for establishing wireless IP connectivity, in which a wireless communication device (WCD) obtains a routable IP address during its registration with a radio access network, rather than first registering with the RAN and then subsequently requesting and acquiring packet-data connectivity. Preferably, when the WCD sends a radio access registration request that triggers a registration notification to a home location register (HLR), the HLR or an associated entity will assign an IP address for use by the WCD and will deliver the assigned IP address in a registration notification response message to the RAN. The RAN will then deliver the assigned IP address to the WCD over the air in a radio access registration response message. The WCD may then use the assigned IP address to engage in packet data communications, such as to set up a VoIP session with another IP node, for instance.

  • Publication number: 20090187978
Abstract: A system and method for providing access to a secured data resource to a client on a peer-to-peer network. The system includes a content management server which receives and verifies a first request for access to a secured data resource from the client. If the first request is valid, the content management server generates a second request for access to the secured data resource which comprises peer-to-peer control information and information identifying the secured data resource, and which can additionally include a signature generated using a shared key. The content management transmits the second request to the client, which then retransmits the second request to a peer-to-peer control server. The control server receives the second request and validates it. Such validations can include validating the request with the shared key. If the second request is valid, the control server transmits instructions for accessing the secured data resource back to the client.

  • Publication number: 20090186587
Abstract: An IP2 tuning circuit (404, 1004, 1104 and 1404) for tuning the IP2 of a mixer (414 and 415) to minimize second order intermodulation distortion (IMD2) in a receiver (402, 1002, 1102 and 1402) of a transceiver (401, 1001, 1101 and 1401). An operating characteristic of the mixer related to IMD2 is changeable by changing a value of a setting of the mixer. Two tones outside a bandpass of the receiver are injected into the mixer and a calibration tone within the bandpass is produced as a result of IMD2. Alternatively, a DSSS signal is injected into the mixer and the calibration tone is produced at a chip rate of the DSSS signal. The power of the calibration tone is measured at a plurality of values of the settings. Alternatively, a four-level PN DSSS signal of known content is injected into the mixer, and a two-level PN DSSS signal of known content produced therefrom is correlated with a two-level PN DSSS signal of known content produced by a squaring circuit (1468).
