  • Patent number: 6880126
Abstract: A method and apparatus of an architectural pattern for creating applications for a data processing system. A graphical user interface is created in which the graphical user interface includes a plurality of components. Processes for presenting the plurality of components and receiving user input are handled by a first set of graphical objects, wherein in response to selected user input, a first event is generated. An application object is created in which the application process controls an order in which the graphical objects present the set of components and process the event and wherein the application generates a second event. A transport object is created in which the transport object processes the second event and forwards the second event for processing to a destination within the plurality of destinations. A plurality of destination objects are created in which each destination object within the plurality of destinations objects handles accessing a destination within the plurality of destinations.

  • Publication number: 20050071977
Abstract: A truss fabrication system and method for use in fabricating trusses has a truss set-up table and a gantry movable relative to the truss set-up table for pressing connector plates into truss members. A wheel guide directs movement of the roller assembly relative to the truss set-up table. The truss set-up table has a substantially horizontal table deck having a side edge, and extension arms projecting generally horizontally outward from the side edge. A gantry press moves relative to the truss set-up table and is sized and arranged relative to the truss set-up table for pressing connector plates into truss members supported on the table deck and for pressing connector plates into truss members supported on the extension arms. The extension arms are spaced apart from each other along the table deck side edge to define work bays sized to permit a worker to pass into the work bay to the table deck side edge for manipulating the truss components on the table deck.

  • Publication number: 20050073016
Abstract: This invention provides an asymmetrically patterned magnetic memory storage device. In a particular embodiment at least one magnetic memory cell is provided. Each magnetic memory cell provides at least one ferromagnetic data layer of a first size, the data layer characterized by an alterable orientation of magnetization, an intermediate layer in contact with the data layer and at least one ferromagnetic reference layer of a second size, the reference layer characterized by a reference magnetic field. The reference layer is in contact with the intermediate layer, opposite from and asymmetric to the data layer. The magnetic memory cell is characterized as having only one-end involvement. More specifically, the asymmetric alignment provides that only one set of magnetic poles are in substantial vertical alignment, and as such subject to the strong influence of one another.

  • Publication number: 20050074706
Abstract: Electric fields may be advantageously used in various steps of photolithographic processes. For example, prior to the pre-exposure bake, photoresists that have been spun-on the wafer may be exposed to an electric field to orient aggregates or other components within the unexposed photoresist. By aligning these aggregates or other components with the electric field, line edge roughness may be reduced, for example in connection with 193 nanometer photoresist. Likewise, during exposure, electric fields may be applied through uniquely situated electrodes or using a radio frequency coil. In addition, electric fields may be applied at virtually any point in the photolithography process by depositing a conductive electrode, which is subsequently removed during development. Finally, electric fields may be applied during the developing process to improve line edge roughness.

  • Publication number: 20050068889
Abstract: The present invention is directed to the maintenance of call signaling information in connection with realtime communications established using a packet data network. According to the present invention, call state information related to a realtime communication is provided by a call controller to an interconnected client. The client stores the call state information. In the event of a failure of a call signaling channel between the call controller and the client or in the event of a failure of the call controller, the client may establish contact with an alternate call controller, and may provide the call state information that has been stored on the client to the alternate call controller. The alternate call controller may then restore call features associated with the realtime communication.

  • Publication number: 20050064720
Abstract: This invention provides a directional ion etching process for making nano-scaled angled features such as may be used, for example, in liquid crystal displays and or nanoimprinting templates. In a particular embodiment a semiconductor wafer substrate is prepared with at least one layer of material. A photoresist is applied, masked, exposed and developed. Anisotropic ion etching at a high angle relative to the wafer is performed to remove portions of the non protected material layer. The remaining photoresist caps shadow at least a portion of the material layer, and as the ion etching is performed at an angle, the protected portions of the material layer also appear at an angle.

  • Patent number: 6870636
Abstract: A method for deriving a reverse model look-up table whose entries represent device dependent colors as a function of device independent colors, based on a forward model look-up table whose entries represent device independent colors obtained in response to printout of corresponding device dependent colors. For each device independent target color, a binary search of the forward model look-up table is performed so as to locate a cell that contains the device independent target color. The grid points from the forward model look-up table that define the cell are interpolated so as to obtain device dependent colors corresponding to the device independent target color. The device dependent color is stored at the grid point for the reverse model look-up table at a position corresponding to the device independent target color.

  • Publication number: 20050060604
Abstract: A method, system, and product are disclosed for isolating a defect in a memory system by determining in which particular component of the memory system the defect exists. The memory system includes multiple components. The components include a physical memory module, a memory card to which the physical memory module is attached, and a memory controller for controlling the memory card. The memory card includes one or more electrical buffers for driving or detecting the memory signals. The buffers may be used as virtual memory elements. Each component is tested separately in order to identify the defective component with the help of virtual memory system elements. The components are tested by first testing the physical memory module. If the physical memory module passes the test, the memory card is then tested. If the memory card passes its test, the memory controller is tested.
