  • Publication number: 20140238625
Abstract: A recording medium includes a substrate, and a deinking agent incorporated in the substrate, on the substrate in a layer, or both in the substrate and on the substrate in a layer. The deinking agent is chosen from an unsaturated fatty acid having from 19 to 23 carbon atoms and combinations of these unsaturated fatty acids. The deinking agent interacts with an ink having been printed on the recording medium to remove the ink during a deinking process.

  • Publication number: 20140238906
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sensor and control system, which automatically adjusts a product splitter position of a full-scale spiral. An electrical conductivity-based automation system is described and claimed herein and has been successfully developed and demonstrated as illustrated herein. The system includes a sensor and a microprocessor based and controlled servo or gear motor that is utilized to adjust the splitter of an operating coal/mineral spiral based on the readings of the sensor. The device as described and claimed herein converts a traditional coal spiral to an automated system for controlling the splitter thereby giving the spiral unit the ability to automatically adjust a key process variable, i.e., its splitter position, in real time as and when the feed coal or other mineral property changes to maintain the performance of the spiral at the optimum level.

  • Publication number: 20140236976
Abstract: A predefined number of matches is identified between records in a first file and records in a second file. For the matches, determine the span of the actual range of record positions in the second file relative to the positions of the operation records in the first file within which all matches were found. If the actual span is smaller than the span of a current defined range of record positions by at least a first threshold value, decrease the span of the current defined range. If the actual span is within a second threshold value of the span of the current defined range, increase the span of the current defined range. If an amount above a third threshold value of operation records in the first file are not matched to operation records in the second file, increasing the span of the current defined range.

  • Publication number: 20140227805
Abstract: Deposition of lead-zirconium-titanate (PZT) ferroelectric material over iridium metal, in the formation of a ferroelectric capacitor in an integrated circuit. The capacitor is formed by the deposition of a lower conductive plate layer having iridium metal as a top layer. The surface of the iridium metal is thermally oxidized, prior to or during the deposition of the PZT material. The resulting iridium oxide at the surface of the iridium metal is very thin, on the order of a few nanometers, which allows the deposited PZT to nucleate according to the crystalline structure of the iridium metal rather than that of iridium oxide. The iridium oxide is also of intermediate stoichiometry (IrO2-x), and reacts with the PZT material being deposited.

  • Patent number: 8788471
Abstract: A method for identifying matching transactions between two log files where each transaction includes one or more statements. Each log file record records the execution of a statement and includes a transaction identifier. Each record in turn in one log file is compared to an advancing window of records in the other log file. A first table contains associations of statements to transactions and transactions to statements for records in the window. If a match is found between a record in the one file and a record in the window, information associating partial transactions in the one file to potential transactions of the records in the window is added to a second table. If an end-of-transaction record is read from the one file, a best match is found between the ended transaction and the potential transactions based on information in the first and second tables.

  • Publication number: 20140195505
Abstract: A log file contains operation records, each operation record is of a certain type, and each operation record is associated with a transaction. A plurality of operation records is read from the log file into a record store. Records of the plurality of operation records of each operation record type are sampled at a predefined sampling rate. Operation records in the plurality of operations records are identified that are associated with completed transactions of which the sampled operation records are associated. The identified operation records are then extracted from the record store into a data store.

  • Publication number: 20140189638
Abstract: A system and associated method for generating a Service Component Architecture (SCA) module with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) model elements. A service model is created according to a process model that has activities and a process flow. Services of the service model are respectively associated with the activities. Each service is determined to employ only one service operation definition to render a message specification of a respective activity that is associated with each service. The activities, the process flow, and the message specification are utilized to produce the SCA module in executable implementations.

  • Publication number: 20140181394
Abstract: Responsive to receiving a write request for a cache line from an input/output device, a caching agent of a first processor determines that the cache line is managed by a home agent of a second processor. The caching agent sends an ownership request for the cache line to the second processor. A home agent of the second processor receives the ownership request, generates an entry in a directory cache for the cache line, the entry identifying the remote caching agent as having ownership of the cache line, and grants ownership of the cache line to the remote caching agent. Responsive to receiving the grant of ownership for the cache line from the home agent an input/output controller of the first processor adds an entry for the cache line to an input/output write cache, the entry comprising a first indicator that the cache line is managed by the home agent of the second processor.

  • Patent number: 8739250
Abstract: An input port for a computer system may retain potentially authenticable requests for processing while removing other connection requests from an incoming queue or request pool. The input port may continue to receive new requests even during a denial of service attack, allowing potentially legitimate requests to be processed. In a typical embodiment, a first in, first out buffer may be used to receive and process connection requests. When the buffer is full, any request that comes from a device having a previous connection with the computer system may be retained for authentication, while removing requests that come from unknown devices. Some embodiments may retain a list of known devices associated with administrators or other known users, and the list may be updated as those users are authenticated.
