  • Patent number: 9887425
Abstract: A plurality of batteries is printed on a flexible substrate, where each battery may output the same voltage, such as about 1.5 volts. Batteries in a first subset are connectable in parallel by controllable switches to control the maximum current that can be delivered to a load. Batteries in a second subset are also connectable in parallel by additional controllable switches to control the maximum current that can be delivered to the load. Another group of switches can either connect the two subsets of batteries in series, to generate 3 volts, or connect the subsets in parallel to increase the maximum current. Additional subsets of batteries and their associated switches may be further connected to increase the voltage and current. The power supply may be standardized and configured by the user for a particular load, such as a sensor for a medical skin patch.

  • Publication number: 20180014514
Abstract: The Bee-All Inner Cover Feeder provides beekeepers with the ability to monitor and feed bee colonies with minimal intrusion into the hive and provides protection of the pollen substitute and sugar water from predator insects and other bees. These features make the Bee-All Inner Cover Feeder unique in the field of beekeeping. The previously unavailable feeder cartridge approach combines the provision of pollen substitute and sugar water to the hive without opening the hive lid, and places the feed deep within the hive, accessible only to that colony of bees. The Bee-All Inner Cover Feeder is a simple but revolutionary delivery system for pollen substitute and sugar water which minimizes intrusion into the hive, protects the feed from other insects, and saves beekeeper time and effort. Taken together, these benefits increase the health and productivity of the bee colonies.

  • Publication number: 20180009385
Abstract: This invention relates to a drive system for an automatic step. Some embodiments include a rotary actuator for moving an automatic step, a crank arm pivotally coupled to the actuator and pivotable about a central shaft, and a first link pivotally coupled to the crank arm, the first link having first and second ends. The system has one or more force mitigation mechanisms capable of reducing forces eccentric with respect to the actuator. A first force mitigation mechanism engages when the step is deployed or nearly deployed by aligning the central shaft with the first and second ends of the first link along a first axis to generally place eccentric forces originating from the step against the central shaft of the crank arm instead of directly engaging the actuator. A second force mitigation mechanism allows the crank arm to yield without forcing the actuator by using a clutch adjacent to the central shaft.

  • Publication number: 20180004663
Abstract: A data processing system includes a snoop filter organized as a number of lines, each storing an address tag associated with the address of data stored in one or more caches of the system, a coherency state of the data, and presence data. A snoop controller sends snoop messages in response to data access requests. The presence data is configurable in a first format, in which the value of a bit in the presence data is indicative of a subset of the nodes for which at least one node in the subset has a copy of the data in its local cache, and in a second format, in which the presence data comprises a unique identifier of a node having a copy of the data in its local cache. The snoop controller sends snoop messages to the nodes indicated by the presence data.

  • Patent number: 9855940
Abstract: A vehicle brake monitor assembly for an air disk brake includes a brake actuator having a pushrod projecting from inside a chamber of said brake actuator. The pushrod releasably actuates a lever arm of a caliper thereby moving the disk brake into a braking position when the pushrod is in an extended position and releasing the disk brake from the braking position when the pushrod is in a retracted position. The pushrod includes a pushrod shaft and a contact member biased in a telescoping relationship relative to the pushrod shaft and the lever arm of the caliper abuts the contact member counteracting the bias of the contact member. A sensor is integrated with the assembly proximate the contact member and detects movement of the pushrod relative to the lever arm and to the pushrod shaft.
