  • Patent number: 9369036
Abstract: A circuit includes a switching regulator that produces a first voltage supply output and that includes an operational supply input. The operational supply input may provide power for running the logic in the switching regulator. The circuit also includes a linear regulator that produces a second voltage supply output. A control circuit accepts the first voltage supply output and the second voltage supply output and includes a power output connected to the operational supply input. The control circuit is configured to pass the second voltage supply output to the power output until the first voltage supply output is established. After the first voltage supply is established, the control circuit instead passes the first voltage supply output to the power output through the control circuit. The first voltage supply output may also then provide power to the circuitry that would otherwise have been powered by the linear regulator.

  • Publication number: 20160160855
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a plunger lift system in a well is provided. The methods can include: opening a control valve and allowing a plunger to rise to a top of the well; determining an actual rise time of the plunger based on a time it takes the plunger to rise to the top of the well; using actual rise time of the plunger and a target rise time calculating adjustments to the afterflow time or close time; and allowing the afterflow time to pass before closing the control valve and keeping the valve closed for the close time. The methods are repeated, each time calculating a new adjusted afterflow time or adjusted close time to incrementally alter these times to improve the operation of the plunger lift system.

  • Publication number: 20160141471
Abstract: A flexible light sheet includes a bottom conductor layer overlying a flexible substrate. An array of vertical light emitting diodes (VLEDs) is printed as an ink over the bottom conductor layer so that bottom electrodes of the VLEDs electrically contact the bottom conductor layer. A top electrode of the VLEDs is formed of a first transparent conductor layer, and a temporary hydrophobic layer is formed over the first transparent conductor layer. A dielectric material is deposited between the VLEDs but is automatically de-wetted off the hydrophobic layer. The hydrophobic layer is then removed, and a second transparent conductor layer is deposited to electrically contact the top electrode of the VLEDs. The VLEDs can be made less than 10 microns in diameter since no top metal bump electrode is used. The VLEDs are illuminated by a voltage differential between the bottom conductor layer and the second transparent conductor layer.

  • Patent number: 9342658
Abstract: A dynamic refill level is used for determining medication refill requirements for a medication at a medication dispensing apparatus. A quantity of medication likely needed from the medication dispensing apparatus until a next scheduled refill is determined. A dynamic refill level is set for the medication based on the quantity of medication likely needed. A current count for the medication in the medication dispensing apparatus is compared against the dynamic refill level. If the current count satisfies the dynamic refill level, there is no need to refill the medication. However, if the current count does not satisfy the dynamic refill level, there is a need to refill the medication.
