  • Patent number: 9338105
Abstract: A system for providing oversubscription of pipeline bandwidth comprises a steer module, an absorption buffer, an ingress packet processor (IPP), a memory management unit (MMU), and a main packet buffer. The steer module receives packets that include start of packet (SOP), middle of packet (MOP), and end of packet (EOP) cells, attaches a packet identifier to the cells, passes the MOP and EOP cells to the MMU, and stores the SOP cells and EOP metadata in the absorption buffer. The IPP processes the SOP cells and EOP metadata and passes the same to the MMU. The MMU stores the MOP, EOP, and processed SOP cells in the main packet buffer, combines, upon receiving the processed EOP metadata of each packet, the processed SOP cell, the MOP cells and the EOP cell of each packet to reconstruct each packet, and queues each reconstructed packet in an egress port queue.

  • Publication number: 20160124465
Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) docking system includes an IHS chassis defining an alignment member passageway and an IHS connector opening. An IHS connector is movably coupled to the IHS chassis adjacent the IHS connector opening and resiliently biased into a retracted orientation. An alignment member securing device is moveably coupled to the IHS chassis adjacent the alignment member passageway and resiliently biased into a non-securing orientation. At least one docking actuator is located in the alignment passageway and coupled to the IHS connector and alignment member securing device. When the IHS chassis is docked with a docking station including a docking connector and an alignment member, the alignment member engages the at least one docking actuator to move the IHS connector relative to the IHS chassis to mate with the docking connector, and move the alignment member securing device relative to the IHS chassis to engage the alignment member.

  • Patent number: 9324692
Abstract: A flexible light sheet lamp includes a thin substrate and an array of printed microscopic vertical LEDs (VLEDs) sandwiched between a transparent first conductor layer and a transparent second conductor layer. The light sheet has a light exit surface. The VLEDs have one surface, facing the light exit surface of the light sheet, covered with a reflective metal. A phosphor layer is provided such that the semi-transparent VLED layer is between the phosphor layer and the light exit surface. A reflector layer is provided such that the phosphor layer is between the reflector layer and the VLED layer. The substrate may form the light exit surface or the light exit surface may be the opposite side of the light sheet. Some VLED light passing through the phosphor layer is reflected by the reflector layer and re-enters the phosphor layer. Therefore, less phosphor is needed to achieve the desired conversion ratio.

  • Publication number: 20160112740
Abstract: A digital content distribution scheme allows for monitoring of a wide range of data, such as system and behavior events of audiences and playback devices, as well as environmental factors, such as those present at the playback venue. More “static” data may be considered, such as subscriptions, settings, bandwidth, and the like. Based upon the data considered, real or near-real time changes in the content provided to audiences may be made. The changes may be based upon predictions of audience interest made by prediction engine. The techniques may also allow for time-shifting and adaptation of content based upon playback times.

  • Patent number: 9300396
Abstract: An amplifier receives an optical signal including a number of labeled channels via a fiber. The amplifier determines a count of the labeled channels and a spectral distribution of the labeled channels. The amplifier adjusts a parameter of the amplifier based on the count of the labeled channels and the spectral distribution of the labeled channels. The amplifier amplifies the optical signal at an adjusted output gain resulting from adjusting the parameter of the amplifier.

  • Patent number: 9299887
Abstract: Ultra-thin flexible LED lamp layers are formed over a release layer on a substrate. The LED lamp layers include a first conductor layer overlying the release layer, an array of vertical light emitting diodes (VLEDs) printed over the first conductor layer, where the VLEDs have a bottom electrode electrically contacting the first conductor layer, and a second conductor layer overlying the VLEDs and contacting a top electrode of the VLEDs. Other layers may be formed, such as protective layers, reflective layers, and phosphor layers. The LED lamp layers are then peeled off the substrate, wherein the release layer provides a weak adherence between the substrate and the LED lamp layers to allow the LED lamp layers to be separated from the substrate without damage. The resulting LED lamp layers are extremely flexible, enabling the LED lamp layers to be adhered to flexible target surfaces including clothing.
