  • Patent number: 11861461
Abstract: In various embodiments, a stylization application generates designs that reflect stylistic preferences. In operation, the stylization application computes characterization information based on a first design and a trained machine-learning model that maps one or more designs to characterization information associated with one or more styles. The stylization application then computes a style score based on the characterization information and a target style that is included in the one or more styles. Subsequently, the stylization application generates a second design based on the style score, where the second design is more representative of the target style than the first design. Advantageously, because the stylization application can substantially increase the number of designs that can be generated based on the target style in a given amount of time, relative to more manual prior art techniques, the overall quality of the design ultimately selected for production can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20230416873
Abstract: The present invention is related generally to recovering metals from waste electronics, and more particularly to a process to recover copper and gold commonly found in waste printed circuit boards using a lixiviant containing a weak acid such as citric acid or acetic acid, a particular concentration of table salt and an oxidizer. By using this lixiviant, the copper found in the printed circuit board reacts to form copper salts and gold becomes detached. Importantly this recovery method of copper and gold found in waste PCBs is fast, does not pose environmental hazards and is economically feasible.

  • Publication number: 20230404252
Abstract: An oral care system (10) comprises an oral care device (12). The oral care device is designed to either comprise or attach to a cleaning or treatment portion (14), e.g. a brush head or mouthpiece. The oral care device thus has a cleaning or treatment function. The oral care device is further provided with an electromagnetic (EM) field or radiation generator (22) adapted to generate and emit radio or microwave frequency electromagnetic energy in a space around an emitter arrangement (24) (sanitization area) used to emit the radiation or field. The EM emissions are configured to have electromagnetic properties suitable for heating water or water-containing fluid located within the sanitization area (34). This allows for a sanitization or disinfection function in a dedicated mode, wherein the EM emissions of the EM generator causes heating to a temperature of at least 50° C., preferably at least 70° C.

  • Publication number: 20230404729
Abstract: A wear-out assessment for an oral care system (14) (e.g. an oral cleaning device) is disclosed. A sensor unit (16) of the oral care system is adapted to provide a sensor signal related to a cleaning efficacy of a cleaning function of the oral care system. The sensor unit (16) may be, or may be coupled to, a component which is used during execution of an oral care function of the device, for example a sensor for detecting cleaning progress in the mouth, or a component which drives a cleaning or treatment action in the mouth. The sensor signal (20) is used for performing a wear-out assessment via monitoring characteristics of a signal which is indicative of progress of the oral cleaning efficacy during an operation session (e.g. a clean level in the mouth) and monitoring a length of time that it takes for a certain threshold of efficacy to be reached in a session. If the length of time is over a certain threshold, this can be an indication that the relevant components of the oral care system are wearing out.

  • Patent number: 11840952
Abstract: An aftertreatment device includes flow guides disposed within a dosing conduit. Exhaust enters through a perforated region of the dosing conduit and passes through the flow guides. The flow guides induce swirling or other turbulence to mix injected reactant with the exhaust gas. Various types of flow guides include cantilevered vanes, guide passageways, and louvered openings of a second conduit. Some types of flow guides induce localized mixing to inhibit deposit formation at the doser mounting unit. Other types of flow guides induce mixing downstream of the dosing conduit.
