  • Publication number: 20050110499
Abstract: A high-sensitivity measuring instrument comprising at least two sensors for detecting the same characteristics by touching a substance being measured with a specified time difference, wherein the between detection signals taken out simultaneously from respective sensors is determined, the difference between characteristic values upon elapsing the specified time difference is determined from the difference between detection signals, a reference time of measurement and a reference characteristic value at that time are preset, a time axis having a time pitch of a specified time difference is set, and a measurement value is obtained at a point in time elapsing an arbitrary time pitch from the reference time. Objective measurement characteristics can be detected by the measuring instrument not in the form of difference or variation but as an absolute value with high accuracy and sensitivity.

  • Publication number: 20050019137
Abstract: The die 18 of the self-piercing rivet fastening device is equipped with a center pin 25 for receiving the hollow section of the legs 5 on the self-piercing rivet 1 and a die main body 27 having a cavity 26 for guiding the distortion of the tip of the legs on the self-piercing rivet outward radially on the outer periphery of the center pin 25. The center pin 25 and the die main body 27 are supported so as to move relatively freely in the axial direction of the center pin 25 towards the punch 14. It also has a plate spring 41 allowing the center pin 25 to move relative to the die main body 27 so the center pin 25 comes into contact with the die end surface of the fastened member 3 on the receiving end when the self-piercing rivet 1 under pressure from the punch 14 is driven into the fastened members 2, 3 and the tip of the legs begins to pierce the fastened member 3 on the receiving end. This reduces or eliminates the constraints on the fastened members in the rivet-driving direction.

  • Patent number: 6833199
Abstract: A joined structure has high strength, which is used for manufacturing a joint made from different metal materials. In the joined structure in which the different metal materials are joined, a reaction product layer to be generated on the joined interface is set to have a thickness of 0.5 &mgr;m or less. Moreover, the reaction product layer is allowed to intermittently exist on the joined interface. Furthermore, the reaction product layer contains a base material crystal consisting of base material atoms of 90 atom % or more on the joined interface.

  • Publication number: 20020168773
Abstract: The performance of an anion exchange resin is evaluated on-line by measuring inorganic carbonic acid concentrations at the inlet and at the outlet of an ion exchange resin vessel (such as a demineralizer vessel) of an ion exchange apparatus such as a condensate water demineralization system. Moreover, an MTC (Mass Transfer Coefficient) with respect to the inorganic carbonic acid is calculated and the dynamic performance and/or degree of degradation of the anion exchange resin are evaluated. The degree of degradation of the anion exchange resin is evaluated from the MTC and the replacement timing, lifetime, and throughput capacity for the anion exchange resin are judged.

  • Patent number: 5412659
Abstract: Within a cell of a TDMA mobile communication system, each mobile station transmits a control message on an up-link frame. On receiving it, the base station determines if the message quality is affected during transmission. A corruption status indication is stored into a position of a frame status memory corresponding to the up-link frame if the message quality is low. When the base station detects a frame identification contained in the received message, it erases the corruption status indication stored in a position identified by the detected frame identification, and transmits a control message on a down-link frame, containing the result of the quality determination. In response, the mobile station stores the identification of the frame of the message into a collision memory, and retransmits a copy of the up-link control message containing the frame identification.
