  • Publication number: 20020046563
Abstract: The invention provides an electronic control unit for controlling an air/fuel ratio of an engine having a lean NOx catalyst in its exhaust system in order to prevent the decrease of the fuel efficiency without deterioration of the drivability due to rich operation to reduce the NOx catalyst. The electronic control unit comprises: air/fuel ratio control means for changing the air/fuel ratio to a rich side when the amount of NOx occluded by the lean NOx catalyst exceeds a predetermined value and changing said air/fuel ratio back to a lean side when a first predetermined period has elapsed; lagging means for lagging ignition timing in synchronization with the air/fuel ratio changing to the rich side by said air/fuel ratio control means; and decrementing means for decrementing amount of the ignition timing lagged by said lagging means by a predetermined amount when a second predetermined period shorter than said first predetermined period has elapsed after the air/fuel ratio changing to the rich side.

  • Publication number: 20020041249
Abstract: A compact comparator is capable of high-speed operation and a high-speed A/D converter formed using this comparator. In this comparator, the input and output terminals of a first inverter are short-circuited, and the output become equivalent to the logical threshold voltage of the first inverter. The output of an operational amplifier is adjusted so that the logical threshold voltage of the first inverter equals to a reference voltage, and a current corresponding to the output of the operational amplifier is supplied to the first inverter via a first transistor. In response to this current, the logical threshold voltage of the first inverter is adjusted to become equal to the reference voltage. Because the first transistor and a second transistor constitute a current mirror circuit, the logical threshold voltage of the second transistor is also adjusted to become equal to the reference voltage.

  • Publication number: 20010026175
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to prevent the charge stored in a hold capacitor from leaking via the switches connected to the electrode of the capacitor, in a sample-and-hold circuit, and to suppress the reduction in the voltage held in the capacitor, thereby improving the performance of the sample-and-hold circuit. The switches connected to the capacitor comprises two N-channel MOS transistors that are connected in series and are simultaneously turned on or off. During the period that the switches are in the OFF state, the potential at the interconnection node of the two transistors (one end of a first transistor) is set so as to be equal to that of the other end of the first transistor. Since the potential difference between the both ends of the first transistor thereby becomes zero, leakage currents via the first transistor is reduced, and charge leakage in the capacitor can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 5327131
Abstract: A comparator includes a P-channel MOS transistor connected at the source thereof to a power source and at the drain thereof to a comparator output and the drain of an N-channel MOS transistor. The source of the N-channel MOS transistor is connected to the ground. The gates of the P-channel MOS transistor and the N-channel MOS transistor are connected to a comparator input. The logic threshold voltage of the comparator is adjusted in accordance with a circuit parameter regarding the P-channel MOS transistor and the N-channel MOS transistor such as, a gate length, a gate width or a voltage of the power source. A result of comparison by the comparator between an analog input value inputted to the comparator input and the logic threshold voltage of the comparator is outputted to the comparator output. An analog to digital converter is constructed using the comparator. The analog to digital converter is reduced in size and allows high speed analog to digital conversion.

  • Patent number: 5220728
Abstract: A blade for a blade exchangeable razor is provided which realizes easy use and smooth haircutting. The razor is adapted to exchangeably support a blade by a blade holder. The blade comprises a thin blade portion having an edge and a back support including side plates for supporting the thin blade portion therebetween and a pair of protrusions formed on the side plates in the longitudinal direction thereof at positions of the side plates close to lower ends of the blade holder. Since the pair of protrusions on the side plates of the back support are located proximal to the lower ends of the blade holder, hair cut by the edge moves away from the blade holder by the action of the protrusions, thereby preventing the cut hair from entering between the back support and the blade holder.

  • Patent number: 4919101
Abstract: A fuel supply control system for an internal combustion engine comprises deceleration detecting device for detecting a predetermined decelerating condition of the engine, and fuel supply decreasing device for decreasing the supply of fuel to the engine when the predetermined decelerating condition is detected by the deceleration detecting device. A first counting device starts to count a first predetermined time period when the high-load detecting device detects that the engine has left the predetermined high-load condition. An inhibiting device inhibits the fuel supply decreasing device from operating when the deceleration detecting device detects the predetermined decelerating condition of the engine before the first counting device completes counting the first predetermined time period. A second counting device counts a second predetermined time period while the high-load detecting device is detecting the predetermined high-load condition of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4895122
Abstract: A method of controlling in a feedback manner the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having a first fuel injection valve and a second fuel injection valve each operating in a different operating region, during operation of the engine in an air-fuel ratio feedback control region, by the use of a coefficient which varies with the output of an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor. In a first and a second operating regions within the air-fuel ratio feedback control region in which the first and second fuel injection valves operate, respectively, a first average value and a second average value of values of said coefficient obtained in the respective regions are calculated, and stored, respectively. When the engine has shifted to the first or and second operating regions, a value based on the corresponding first or second average value is used as an initial value of the coefficient to therely start the feedback control.
