  • Patent number: 10002080
Abstract: A memory system implements a plurality of virtual address modification policies and optionally a plurality of cache eviction policies. Virtual addresses are optionally, selectively, and/or conditionally modified by the memory system in accordance with a plurality of virtual address modification policies. The virtual address modification policies include no modification, modification according to two-dimensional Morton ordering, and modification according to three-dimensional Morton ordering. For example, in response to a reference to a particular virtual address, the particular virtual address is modified according to two-dimensional Morton ordering so that at least two elements in a same column and distinct respective rows of a two-dimensional data structure are loaded into a same cache line and/or are referenced via a same page table entry.

  • Publication number: 20180166246
Abstract: Disclosed herein are efficient mechanical fuse devices that are capable of functioning at high current levels. These devices comprise mechanical features configured such that the fuse devices have a non-triggered state, which allows current to flow through the device, and a triggered state, which does not allow current to flow through the device. In some embodiments, the devices are configured such that a certain pre-determined current level flowing through the device will generate a sufficient electromagnetic field to cause the mechanical elements to transition the fuse device into the triggered state and thus interrupt a connected electrical circuit, device or system. In some embodiments, these devices can also comprise hermetically sealed components. In some embodiments, the fuse devices can comprise pyrotechnic features.

  • Publication number: 20180064330
Abstract: A vision assistance method implemented on a digital display device provides a test image for display to a user on a display of the graphical user interface of the device, and an adjustment interface, configured to be displayed adjacent to the test image on the display and enables the user to input visual adjustment settings to adjust the test image. The test image is then automatically adjusted by a processor of the device by applying the adjustment settings. A profile of the user is generated including the desired visual adjustment settings iteratively selected by the user. An input image is subsequently received and the processor then automatically adjusts the input image based upon visual adjustment data corresponding to the selected desired visual adjustment settings. The adjusted input image is then displayed on the display and to the user.

  • Patent number: 9908059
Abstract: A very low pressure and entirely mechanical sea water desalination device is described, which may be built and operated at a fraction of the current costs for the desalination of sea water. The desalination device is used to purify polluted or otherwise impure water and is a device is easily scaled and can be used in a very small facilities up to the largest facilities for desalinating or purifying water. The device operates with sunlight and ambient heat, and therefore will be very inexpensive to operate in desert and tropical regions; and slightly more expensive to operate in cooler regions, yet still substantially less expensive than the existing systems. The device reduces the cost of potable water made from sea water or other polluted sources to a level which is comparable to or less than the cost of such water received from traditional local fresh-water sources.
