  • Publication number: 20120010802
Abstract: A hybrid powertrain includes an internal combustion engine, an electro-mechanical transmission and an electric machine. In an engine starting routine, flow control devices located proximate each combustion chamber in the engine initially restrict airflow into the cylinders to allow for a starter motor to rotate the engine at lower expansion and compression torque whereafter rotation of the engine is transitioned to the electric machine.

  • Patent number: 8051983
Abstract: A package for flat, pliable objects, such as for wafer-shaped or film-shaped drug forms. The package has a carrier layer, a cover layer which is detachably connected to the carrier layer, and a first surface region wherein the carrier layer is not connected to the cover layer and is completely surrounded by a margin area. A cavity, enclosed on all sides, is formed for accommodating an object. The package has a second surface region wherein the carrier layer is not connected to the cover layer. At least one perforation line extends at least partially within the second surface region, and is provided both in the carrier layer and in the cover layer. Severing the perforation line forms a free edge of the cover layer which serves as a gripping aid and enables manual removal of the cover layer from the carrier layer. The disclosure further covers a process for packaging flat, pliable objects by forming the above-described package.

  • Publication number: 20110207579
Abstract: A control system includes an auto-stop module, an auto-start module, and a starter module. The auto-stop module stops an engine when a brake pedal position is greater than a threshold position and a transmission is in a drive gear. The auto-start module starts the engine when the brake pedal position is less than a minimum position and the engine stop is initiated. When the engine start is initiated and an engine speed is greater than zero, the starter module engages a pinion gear of a starter with a ring gear of an engine by reciprocally actuating the pinion gear N times between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein N is an integer greater than two.

  • Publication number: 20110030320
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for closing containers with a closure in a gripping device. The method consists of a series of steps. First, the closure is picked up in the gripping device, then the container is picked up in the gripping device, the container is closed with the closure in the gripping device, and the closed container is deposited by the gripping device. The gripping device is displaced by a handling unit from a first position in to a second position for transporting the container, and the container is closed whilst the handling unit is displaced by the gripping device.

  • Publication number: 20100238916
Abstract: A method for improving the data rate of data for M/H receivers and for improving the quality of channel estimation in an ATSC-M/H transport data stream marks the transport data packets determined for the transmission of data for M/H receivers in N (e.g., 38) consecutively transmitted transport data packets in an ATSC-M/H-slot of the uncoded ATSC-M/H transport data stream originally determined for the transmission of data for stationary receivers. Coded data for M/H receivers are inserted in the marked transport data packets and introduce training sequences in segments of data fields of the coded ATSC-M/H transport data stream containing marked transport data packets.

  • Publication number: 20100111109
Abstract: Mapping data packets of a first data stream into data fields of a second data stream at several transmitters is provided by generating a first data stream with first data packets containing data associated with stationary receivers and second data packets containing data associated with mobile receivers in a head-end, where second data packets at the start of a group of consecutively transmitted second data packets contain placeholders into which signaling information is filled. A first data stream is transmitted from the head-end to each transmitter. Each transmitter extracts signaling information from the second data packets indicating in which data slot and in which data sub-frame of a received data frame the second data packet is transferred. Each transmitter inserts synchronization data in a specific data packet in each data slot containing second data packets. The first and second data packets are mapped consecutively into the second data stream.
