  • Publication number: 20180363001
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new method for successfully inducing the mutation of cell chemokine receptor CCR5 gene into CCR5?32 deletion gene by using the CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing technique. CCR5 is an important co-receptor for entry of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) into human host cells. CCR5?32 deletion is a 32-bp deletion in CCR5 coding region, which results in change and premature termination in the sequence following the 185th amino acid. Biallelic homozygous deletion of CCR5?32 is naturally resistant to HIV infection, i.e., the people carrying this mutation can't be infected by HIV. The present invention uses both lentiviral packaging system and the CRISPR technique to induce CCR5?32 deletion. Due to the characteristics of a wide range of lentivirus infection, the invention can be applied to cells such as bone marrow stem cells and CD4+ T cells and can be expected to be the therapeutic drug for HIV/AIDS infection or other diseases.

  • Patent number: 10086559
Abstract: A system for online monitoring powder-based 3D printing processes and method thereof are disclosed. A uniform light source having a single wavelength provided by the system is irradiated onto the powder layer before and after applied with glue. Intensities of such reflected images are obtained and subtracted from each other in an image process procedure. A difference obtained through the subtraction is compared with an original 3D model in a computer. If any defect is found such as being larger than a threshold value, the powder-based 3D printing processes will be terminated. Therefore, the technical effects of online printing processes monitoring, time saving and printing resources saving will be achieved.

  • Patent number: 10049176
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of determining characteristics of orifices (O1, . . . , O9) to be made through a plate (2) positioned in a circuit (10) across the fluid passage. Said method comprises defining fluid data, the number of orifices, and for each orifice a control segment or area. The fluid flow rate through each orifice of the perforated plate is calculated, and for each orifice, the flow rate density is calculated by dividing said fluid flow rate by the associated control segment length or control area. The optimized or non-optimized nature of the orifice characteristic is determined by comparing said flow rate density with the mean flow rate density. If the difference in absolute value lies within a predetermined range of values, then the orifice characteristics are considered as being optimized. Otherwise at least one characteristic of at least some of the orifices is modified.
