  • Publication number: 20080295123
Abstract: For the purpose of suppressing an increase of temperature of a laser element, in an optical disc drive, even in case when recording/reproducing at such a low double speed that almost no expectation can be made upon the effect of the convection cooling due to circulating flow of an air, which is generated by rotation of a disc, and in particular, the structure for fixing both end portions of a main shaft, which is engaged with a transfer mechanism for moving an optical pickup into the disc radial direction, through the optical pickup, between two (2) pieces of shafts for supporting the optical pickup, onto connector portions to be engaged with the both end portions of the main shaft, upon a mechanical chassis, on which is mounted at least a disc rotation mechanism, etc., has structures for enlarging a contacting area defined between the both end portions of the main shaft and the connector portions or pressure plates, each building up the connector portion (for example, a comb-like configuration).

  • Publication number: 20080271062
Abstract: To prevent deformation of a chassis due to an impact force in an optical disc apparatus, there is provided a tray for inserting/ejecting an optical disc into/from an apparatus body, with the chassis connected thereto through vibration proof materials in plural portions in a surface opposite a disc placing surface. The tray has projecting portions projecting in a chassis direction in positions facing the chassis in peripheral portions of the plural connecting portions. The projecting portion is located at a position higher than a tray plane with which the vibration proof material comes into contact, and lower than the surface of a chassis facing the tray. When the vibration proof material is compressed and deformed due to the impact force, the projecting portion comes into contact with the chassis facing surface, to reduce the amount of deformation of the vibration proof material and thereby prevent deformation of the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20070050801
Abstract: In an optical disc apparatus, a metallic member forming an optical pickup, such as a bottom cover member of the optical pickup, has a protrusion in an integral form on the portion of the metallic member that is opposed to a plane of a flexible printed-wiring board, and the optical pickup is constructed so that when it comes into contact with an opposed face of the flexible printed-wiring board, the optical pickup brings a front end of the protrusion into contact with the opposed face.

  • Publication number: 20070006240
Abstract: An optical disc apparatus has the following arrangements. Specifically, the optical disc apparatus includes a lock pin and a lock arm. The lock pin is disposed on a side of an inner surface of a case of the apparatus, being tapered in a protruding direction thereof. The lock arm is disposed on a side of a tray of the apparatus. The lock arm, urged by a resilient member, includes a hook portion to be engaged with an inclined surface of the lock pin. When the tray has moved to a predetermined position within the case, the lock arm is engaged with the lock pin, so that the tray is held in position at the predetermined position. When an impact force equal to, or more than, a predetermined value is applied to the optical disc apparatus, the hook portion of the lock arm is displaced in the protruding direction of the lock pin along the inclined surface of the lock pin, thereby disengaged from the lock pin. Engagement of the tray is thereby released.

  • Patent number: 6980191
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a display apparatus which can be miniaturized and is operated stably even at high resolution. The display apparatus according to the present invention includes a pixel array unit, a signal line driving circuit, and a scanning line driving circuit, each of which is formed by using a polysilicon TFT on a glass substrate, a control circuit, and a graphic controller IC. Since the graphic controller IC rearranges digital pixel data DATA in the inside, it is unnecessary to provide a gate array. Since the cycle of a clock signal CLK is twice as much as that of the digital pixel data DATA, the clock signal CLK having a frequency at which the polysilicon TFT normally operates can be supplied to the signal line driving circuit. Further, since the edge of the clock signal CLK is deviated from the changing position of the digital pixel data DATA and they are outputted, the signal line driving circuit can effectively capture the digital pixel data DATA.

  • Patent number: 6433848
Abstract: A front surface of the opposite electrode of a liquid crystal display panel is formed in a curved shape. The relation between the reflecting surface of the pixel electrode and the curved surface of the opposite substrate is defined so that a leaving direction of the light that is reflected by the first face of the opposite substrate is different from a leaving direction of light that is emitted from the first face of the opposite substrate after having been reflected by the pixel electrodes through the liquid crystal layer. Thus, undesired light on the front surface of the opposite substrate is separated from light that is displayed. Consequently, an image free of dazzling and deterioration of contrast ratio due to undesired reflected light can be obtained with a high contrast ratio. In a display apparatus containing the reflection type liquid crystal display, an incident surface to a dichroic prism is an inclined surface including a curved surface, not a surface that is perpendicular to the optical axis.

  • Patent number: 6384884
Abstract: Light diffusion layer 12, which diffuses reflected light by a reflecting surface, is arranged on a reflecting type liquid crystal display device having at least 2 substrates 24 and 29, liquid crystal layer 30 inserted between these substrates, and reflecting surface 16a which reflects light via this liquid crystal layer. This light diffusion layer forms a fine particle dispersion layer or a diffraction grating layer combined of 2 types of refractive index medium with differing refractive indices, and when the refractive index of first refractive index medium 13 is nA(400) at light wave length 400 nm, and nA(700) at light wave length 700 nm, and the refractive index of second refractive index medium 14 is nB (400) at light wave length 400 nm, and nB(700) at light wave length 700 nm, then, (nA(400)/nA(700))×0.9≦(nB(400)/nB(700))≦(nA(400)/nA(700))×1.1.

  • Patent number: 5694189
Abstract: A pixel electrode is disposed with an inclination angle to a base member on a front side (namely, an opposite substrate side) of a liquid crystal display panel. The relation between the reflecting surface of the pixel electrode and the main surface of the base member on the front side of the liquid crystal display panel is defined so that the difference between the reflecting angle of light that is entered as incident light and reflected on the surface of the base member and the leaving angle of light emitted as display light via the liquid crystal display panel exceeds the collection angle of the display apparatus. Thus, undesired light on the main surface of the base member of the display surface is separated from light that is displayed. Consequently, an image free of dazzling and deterioration of contrast ratio due to undesired reflected light can be obtained with a high contrast ratio.
