  • Patent number: 11334396
Abstract: Host specific containerized application configuration generation is disclosed. For example, first and second image files are stored on a first memory. Second and third memories are associated with a first host node. A request to generate a first configuration file associated with a plurality of isolated guests is received, launching a first short-lived guest of the plurality of isolated guests on the second memory. A configuration management application executes on the first short-lived guest, generating and saving the first configuration file to the third memory. The first short-lived guest is terminated. A first service guest of the plurality of isolated guests is launched on the second memory. A first service configured with the first configuration file executes on the first service guest. A second service guest of the plurality of isolated guests is launched on the second memory executing a second service configured with the first configuration file.

  • Patent number: 11325524
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and vehicles, such as an autonomous vehicle, a semi-autonomous vehicle, etc., for collaboratively directing one or more headlights by two or more vehicles. Various aspects may include receiving, by a first vehicle processor, a first vehicle collaborative lighting message from a second vehicle, in which the first vehicle collaborative lighting message requests that the first vehicle direct one or more headlights of the first vehicle to illuminate a target area of uncertainty that is disposed, relative to the first vehicle, in a direction other than a direction of travel of the first vehicle. The first vehicle processor may direct one or more the headlights of the first vehicle to illuminate the target area in accordance with the first vehicle collaborative lighting message.

  • Patent number: 11325606
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems enable controlling an autonomous vehicle by identifying vehicles that are within a threshold distance of the autonomous vehicle, determining an autonomous capability metric of each of the identified vehicles, and adjusting a driving parameter of the autonomous vehicle based on the determined autonomous capability metric of each of the identified vehicles. Embodiments may further include determining, based on the determined ACMs, whether one or more identified vehicles would provide an operational advantage to the autonomous vehicle in a cooperative driving engagement, and initiating a cooperative driving engagement with the one or more identified vehicles in response to determining that the one or more identified vehicles would provide an operational advantage to the autonomous vehicle in a cooperative driving engagement.

  • Publication number: 20210389010
Abstract: A method of validating whether a building or building portion has a design target heat loss coefficient is disclosed. According to the method, also known as the VeriTherm method, a plausible range of heat loss coefficients is determined in which an estimated measurement error does not exceed a combined sensor bias. An indication of whether the design target heat loss coefficient is validated is provided depending on whether or not the design target heat loss coefficient is inside the plausible range of heat loss coefficients. An apparatus may include modules adapted to perform the steps of the method. Further, a method of heating or cooling a building portion is disclosed. According to the method a power input to a building portion is determined in dependence on one or more of: a design target heat loss coefficient, a desired maximal internal to external temperature difference, a cut-off temperature, an intended period of measurement, and a heating/cooling period.

  • Patent number: 11193619
Abstract: A fibre-reinforced polymer component is provided which comprises a main portion comprising fibre-reinforced polymer and at least one surface and at least one raised feature extending from said surface. The at least one raised feature consists of non-reinforced polymer and is shaped to incur visually perceptible damage when the component is subject to an impact with an energy above a predetermined impact energy threshold and to resist an impact with an energy below the predetermined impact energy threshold. The at least one raised feature thus provides a clear visual aid as to when a component has experienced an impact with an energy above the impact energy threshold. Because the raised feature consists of polymer without fibre reinforcement, it is more fragile than the fibre-reinforced polymer main portion 204 and thus reduces the energy at which impacts may be detected.

  • Patent number: 11188075
Abstract: Various embodiments include devices and methods for controlling a robotic vehicle. Each electronic speed controller (ESC) of the robotic vehicle may receive open loop flight control information from a flight controller or another processing device of the robotic vehicle. In some embodiments, each ESC may store the provided open loop flight control information in a memory. In response to detecting a loss of control signals from the flight controller, each ESC may access the stored open loop flight control information and perform control of a motor associated with each ESC based on the open loop flight control information. The open loop flight control information may be a sequence of motor control instructions to be performed over a period of time, or parameterized information or vehicle state information that enables each ESC to generate a sequence of motor control instructions.

  • Publication number: 20210285353
Abstract: A controller for removing deposits in a vehicle is disclosed. The controller includes at least one processor and a memory storing instructions therein that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: determine an amount of deposits accumulated in the vehicle based on an amount of time; determine a combustion target for the vehicle in response to determining that the amount of deposits exceeds a deposit threshold; and modulate a fluid flow of the vehicle based on the determined combustion target.
