  • Publication number: 20200392827
Abstract: A method for optimizing pressure exchange includes providing a first pressure exchange system comprising an energy recovery device (ERD). A second system supplies high-pressure fluid, energized by a positive displacement pump, to the ERD. A third system supplies low-pressure fluid to the ERD. The first system energizes the low-pressure fluid with the high-pressure fluid to form a high-pressure fracking fluid, which is delivered from the first system to a well-head. A rate of required flow is input into a control system, which determines a rate of flow of the high-pressure fluid, a rate of flow of the low-pressure fluid, and an actual rate of flow of the fracking fluid at the well-head. The control system then adjusts to equilibrium: the rate of flow of the high-pressure fluid based on the actual rate of flow; and the rate of flow of the low-pressure fluid based on the actual rate of flow.

  • Publication number: 20200261726
Abstract: Improved in vivo brain therapy is provided with a system having a neural implant that delivers both electrical stimulation and stem cell therapy to the brain. The return electrode for electrical stimulation is spaced apart from the implant to prevent local short-circuiting of the electrical stimulation. After forming the implant, stem cells can be seeded upon it, and subsequently, the apparatus can be implanted in vivo. A cannula system allows for continued electrical stimulation and the ability to manipulate the stem cells within the host environment.

  • Publication number: 20200011165
Abstract: A pressure exchange system for use in hydraulic fracturing includes a closed-loop clean fluid circuit; an energizing system comprising a first pump; a high-pressure clean manifold system; a pressure exchange system; a low-pressure supply system; and a high-pressure dirty manifold system. The closed-loop clean fluid circuit delivers clean fluid to the energizing system, and the energizing system energizes the clean fluid to supply pressurized clean fluid. The high-pressure clean manifold system delivers the pressurized clean fluid to the pressure exchange system. Meanwhile, the low-pressure supply system delivers a low-pressure dirty stream to the pressure exchange system. The pressure exchange system transfers the energy from the pressurized clean fluid to the low-pressure dirty stream thereby supplying a pressurized dirty-stream, whereby the high-pressure dirty manifold system delivers the pressurized dirty-stream to a well-head.

  • Publication number: 20190384747
Abstract: A data analysis system is proposed for providing fine-grained low latency access to high volume input data from possibly multiple heterogeneous input data sources. The input data is parsed, optionally transformed, indexed, and stored in a horizontally-scalable key-value data repository where it may be accessed using low latency searches. The input data may be compressed into blocks before being stored to minimize storage requirements. The results of searches present input data in its original form. The input data may include access logs, call data records (CDRs), e-mail messages, etc. The system allows a data analyst to efficiently identify information of interest in a very large dynamic data set up to multiple petabytes in size. Once information of interest has been identified, that subset of the large data set can be imported into a dedicated or specialized data analysis system for an additional in-depth investigation and contextual analysis.

  • Patent number: 10489306
Abstract: A data processing system incorporates a cache system having a cache memory and a cache controller. The cache controller selects for cache entry eviction using a primary eviction policy. This primary eviction policy may identify a plurality of candidates for eviction with an equal preference for eviction. The cache controller provides a further selection among this plurality of candidates based upon content data read from those candidates themselves as part of the cache access operation which resulted in the cache miss leading to the cache replacement requiring the victim selection. The content data used to steer this second stage of victim selection may include transience specifying data and, for example, in the case of a cache memory comprising a translation lookaside buffer, page size data, type of translation data, memory type data, permission data and the like.
