  • Publication number: 20200226934
Abstract: A device for determining a region of impact of an aircraft on the surface of the Earth in the event of an emergency is configured to compare weather forecasts from the past with the weather conditions that are actually occurring and to determine therefrom an uncertainty of the weather forecasts using statistical means. This uncertainty of the weather forecasts is used in addition to position data and state information of the aircraft in order to determine a probable region of impact of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20200215454
Abstract: A method includes supplying a supersaturated brine stream having a plurality of minerals and anti-scalant from a water treatment system to a gypsum removal system disposed within a mineral removal system. The gypsum removal system includes a gypsum reactor that may receive the supersaturated brine, may deactivate the anti-scalant such that gypsum precipitates from the supersaturated brine, and may generate a gypsum slurry having a mixture of desupersaturated brine, precipitated gypsum, and the anti-scalant in solution with the desupersaturated brine. The method also includes supplying gypsum seed crystals to the gypsum reactor. The gypsum seed crystals may precipitate the gypsum from the supersaturated brine to generate the gypsum slurry. The method also includes directing a first portion of the gypsum slurry from the gypsum reactor to a gypsum settler.

  • Publication number: 20200100489
Abstract: A bedbug trap that has a series of stacked containers. The top container holds a quantity of water, sugar and yeast, which generates carbon dioxide. The central container holds a small heating pad to attract the bedbugs and to heat the water and yeast mixture to aid in the fermentation. A hose with a water trap system brings the generated carbon dioxide from the upper chamber to the bottom chamber. This chamber sits in a bowl that has a rough exterior and a smooth interior. Holes, formed around the base of the bottom chamber allow the carbon dioxide to escape into the room, which attracts the bedbugs. The assembled unit is large, to trap as many bedbugs as possible in the shortest amount of time. Finally, the water, sugar and yeast are common household items that are easily and cheaply replenished as needed.

  • Patent number: 10582238
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing subscriptions. A media guidance application obtaining viewing patterns of a subscriber and determining a first and second media package of interest to the subscriber. A first and second release schedule are obtained related to media content in the first and second media packages. The media guidance application predicts a first viewing impact of the first subscription and a second viewing impact of the second subscription, for the upcoming time period, wherein the viewing impact indicates a total predicted amount of time spent viewing the media packages in the upcoming time period. An available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period is also determined. The media guidance application generates a subscription recommendation for the upcoming time period based on the first viewing impact, second viewing impact, and available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period.

  • Publication number: 20200057751
Abstract: A method for generating and maintaining hierarchical tags with community-based ratings is provided. Tags for media streams are organized into a hierarchical format. Users may select tags from the hierarchical tag database that describes a particular multimedia content. If the user is unable to locate a desired tag, the user may submit a new tag. Upon submission of the new tag, a librarian approves the tag before storing and placing the tag in the hierarchical tag database. Users are also able to rate the quality of the association between the tag and the multimedia content. If a tag is rated low, the tag may be removed from the hierarchical tag database. If the tag is rated highly, display of the tag in a list of tags becomes more prominent.
